Mira stared up at Gabriel, her face giving no hint of emotion.
“I'll have to take this call,” she notified him calmly.
“I'll talk to you another time. Don't forget what I said,” he reminded her.
Mira, who could barely recall what he had said, nods her head in affirmation.
She picks up her phone and Reyna's voice echoed through the line.
“Hey, Reyna,” she called gently
“Umm...Mira?” Reyna questioned
“Yeah, it's me. What is it?” she asked.
“The boss wants to take Eli out today,” she informed
Mira took a deep breath, her body vibrating with a deep sigh.
“And...?” she queried, leaning more into the phone.
“I told him I would get back to him as you wouldn't like a stranger picking up the boy,” she proudly announced.
“And...?” Mira asked again.
“He said he'd wait for your response,”
