Freya's POV.
Walking into the hall I could hear the sound of laughter and clinking of glasses. " Stay put here, I would survey the hall and make sure it's safe" Flarry said in a whisper.
I couldn't help but chuckle " Don't make me regret my actions. I just suggested that you come along as a bodyguard, I never asked you to fully act as one " I said pretending to be angry. He was always like this, protecting me even at the slightest opportunity.
" I'm your bodyguard for life, I need to be sure you are okay. Then we can move to the first stage of our plans" He said observing the environment.
He never believes me whenever I say I can take care of myself. Seeing him leave, I looked around the hall. " See, how time flies," I muttered. It's been a long time but it's only a few changes. It's almost the same, my childhood memories came flashing through my eyes.
I saw an image of my little self running playful in the hall while my mom was finding it difficult to catch me. These memories were sweet but someone evil turned it sour.
"I am down scouting the environment. I want you to stay safe, be very careful" he said in a whisper and left. I knew of the fact that he would be in the shadows watching over me.
"I am very happy for all my friends who took time to be here. And a big Thanks goes to my wonderful parents, Alpha Thor and his beautiful Luna Alia" I couldn't help but frown at him. "What a boring speech?" I complained. I felt so much hatred looking at the man beside him.
The man who had murdered my parents. My murder weapon was intact, with a swipe of my hands. The poisonous needles I had would penetrate to their necks and in a blink of an eye they would be dead. I was just waiting for the right time.
Looking amidst the crowd I couldn't find Flarry. "Hello" I heard an unfamiliar voice behind me. It wasn't Flarry, turning around to see who it was . I saw my worst enemy's son. I couldn't help but look at him with disdain. " I'm Arthur, what's your name?" He said, reaching out his hands for a handshake.
I left his hands suspended in the air while I focused on the wine I was savoring. " Did you come here with someone?" He asked, looking around.
"Are you a fool or what? You've been talking non stop without any response from me. Your common sense should tell you that I don't like your company" I said furrowing my brows.
"Woah, calm down. You must really be in a bad mood. There's nothing wrong in saying Hi to someone new" He said calmly. If I hadn't known better I would have fallen for his good side. "Owh, I See. I'm not interested?" I replied back.
"Is there a problem ma'am?" Flarry said walking up to me. I couldn't help but smile, I knew he would still be around. " Some nuisance keeps on pestering me" I said looking at Arthur with disdain. He was so irritating to look at, all I saw in his eyes was the image that had killed my parents.
"Sir, I would advise you to leave the lady alone, she isn't enjoying your company"
"That's left for me and her to decide. Can you please excuse us?" Arthur said, looking at Flarry. With a smile, Flarry left the both of us to talk. " I don't mean to be rude, don't mind my manners.
Today happens to be my coronation day and I don't have any person in mind to be my Luna. Would you mind being my Luna for just a year?" He said looking me straight in the eye.
I was dumbfounded by such a request, this wasn't what I was expecting. Although I'm quite sure he needs a Luna before he'll be crowned, why would it be me?
There are many young girls in the gathering that would suit being his hired bride, only if he knows me and what I'm up to towards him and his family…he wouldn't dare approach me for such a deal.
If he knows me by name, he wouldn't know that I'm an assassin hiding my identity.
"You don't have to give me an answer now, feel free to think it over. It's just for a year , it's nothing much" He said with a warm smile, causing me to take a deep breath out of my thoughts.
"You want me to act as your Luna for just a year?" I couldn't help but ask. I wanted to be sure I wasn't imagining things.
"Yes," he replied.
I needed to discuss this with Flarry, " Excuse me, " I said walking towards the exit. This was a great opportunity for me to avenge the death of my parents. I suddenly had something in mind, having to kill them now would make death far easier for them.
They best way was to torture them to death, vthe should feel the pain my mother felt before she died. They should feel the pain they made my father go through. Exiting the building, I drafted into my past.
Hiding inside that cupboard I knew I was now an orphan. I had nobody in the world. The night became so cold and I could hear the drops of rain.
The wind makes a loud whistling noise announcing its arrival. Those men didn't come back to search for me.
My mother had dragged them away to ensure I was safe. I was sure she didn't want me to watch her die. She didn't want the scene of her being murdered to be printed in my memories. Being locked in a cupboard, I felt isolated from the world.
I need to give my parents the last rites. With all my might I finally broke the door and slowly got out into the night, in search of my mother's corpse. She was his Luna and she would be buried with him. They both loved and protected each other till the end.
After walking some miles away from the pack house. I found my mother's lifeless body. There was a deep print of claws on her chest and her neck was bleeding. The person who hurt her was ruthless. "Mom" I cried out, my tears mixed with rain. My sorrows were watched away alongside the flood. It kept pouring, even nature itself showed its grievance.
This coronation night was the same night my parents died. The same day, I suddenly felt so cold. " Just let it all out," Flarry said, placing his jacket on my shoulders.
Hugging it tightly I felt warm, " Taking three steps forward, you would find my parents' grave. I single handedly buried my parents at the age of six" I said with tears rolling down my eyes. It was a terrible nightmare for children around that age. " As an Alpha's daughter, I could only feed on food scraps for survival. While they happily treated me as nothing but a slave. Sitting on my father's throne, what rightfully belongs to me. Now, my enemy is asking that I become his Luna. " I said, brushing the tears off my face. Tears were a sign of weakness, I wasn't weak.
Flarry didn't say a word, I understood his silence. He wasn't surprised by what I just said about becoming a hired bride for the recent Alpha. He was cool with it." Is this what you wanted? You want to leave me as well?" I said looking him in the eyes. Was I going to lose him as well?
"You're filled with so much hate from your past. I wish I can help you with this pain and burden but it's not possible. I can only help you face them." he said warmly, as he hugged us tightly from behind. " I would never leave you but at the same time. Things would have to happen the way you want them to. You have to find your peace of mind"
"All I had in mind was coming over and having them killed. If I go on with this plan of being his bride, will I be able to succeed in taking revenge?" I sighed deeply.
Flarry patted my shoulder. "It will make everything smooth, all you need is to be smart and make use of this opportunity…" He comforted me.
I swallowed my saliva, he has a point. Being his Luna will make everything easier for me, but I'll make sure to hide my identity as an assassin.
