Chapter 5: The Reason of Breakup

1030 Words
Lindsay POV: I lay on my bed, staring up at the ceiling and I still haven't forgotten about the past. It's been a few years since high school and so much has changed. But there are some memories that still remain fresh in my mind, like the day I met Tjay. I was in the fourth grade when he transferred to our school. He was the new kid, and I couldn't help but notice how good looking he was. He had dark hair and mischievous brown eyes that always seemed to be laughing. He was the complete opposite of me - an introvert, shy and always buried in books. But Tjay was different. He was outgoing, funny and always had a joke to tell. He was popular among our classmates, and I couldn't help but be drawn to him. But I was too shy to even talk to him. It wasn't until high school that our paths crossed again. We were the only two students who chose to take advanced classes, and so we were in the same classes together. At first, I was nervous to be around him, but he made me feel at ease with his jokes and easy-going nature. As we spent more time together, I realized that Tjay was not just good looking and funny, but he was also incredibly smart. He would often help me with my studies, and I couldn't help but fall for him. And to my surprise, he felt the same way about me. We started dating in our junior year, and it was like a fairytale. Tjay would always make me laugh and feel loved. He never tried to change me, and I loved him for that. But then things took a turn for the worse. My family was going through some financial problems, and it was overwhelming for me. I didn't want to burden Tjay with my issues, so I broke up with him. I thought it was for the best, but it broke my heart to let go of the one person who made me feel happy. Tjay was confused and hurt by my sudden decision, but he respected it. We went our separate ways, and I focused on helping my family. But I never forgot about Tjay and the memories we shared. Now, lying in my bed, I wonder if I made the right choice. Tjay had always been there for me, and I pushed him away when I needed him the most. But I couldn't bring myself to burden him with my problems. I didn't want him to see me in a vulnerable state. Her thoughts stopped when her cell phone suddenly rang and she saw that someone had texted her... "Hey, Linds, can we meet?" a text message from unknown. " Who's this?" she replied. "It's Tjay" "Oh Tjay, sure " she asked. " Meet me at 9 am in the coffee shop where we met" " okay, see you there" as she said. The next day, as they stood face to face, a mix of emotions flooded between them. Tjay: "Hi, Linds." Lindsay: "Oh, hello, Tjay." her voice betraying a hint of uncertainty. Their gazes locked, a silent yet profound conversation unfolding between them. The unspoken words hung in the air, heavy with untold emotions and lingering questions. Time seemed to stand still as they navigated the uncharted territory of reuniting after the passage of time. Tjay's eyes held a mix of emotions - a blend of longing, curiosity, and a hint of vulnerability. Lindsay couldn't help but notice the subtle changes in his demeanor, a reflection of the experiences they had lived through separately since their parting. Despite the years that had passed, there was a comfort in the familiarity of his presence. As Lindsay searched for the right words, Tjay broke the silence, his voice filled with a mix of hope and hesitation: Tjay: "I've missed you, Linds. I've thought about us, about how things ended between us." Lindsay's heart skipped a beat at his words, emotions swirling within her. The memories of their shared laughter, the comfort of his presence, and the love they once had tugged at her heartstrings. A wave of regret washed over her, wondering if she had made a mistake in letting him go. Taking a moment to compose herself, Lindsay nodded slowly, her voice barely above a whisper: Lindsay: "I've missed you too, Tjay. There are things I need to say...but we better forget that.Right now, it's better to just focus on things or people that make us happy... Tjay: " Yeah, your right, past is past" Tjay's gaze lingered on Lindsay, a mix of emotions flickering in his eyes before he let out a soft sigh. Lindsay could sense the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air, the uncharted territories of what could have been. Lindsay: "So, how's your life?" Tjay: "It's become more better" Lindsay: "Oh that's good... Can I ask?" Tjay: " Sure" Lindsay: "why do you want to meet me?" Tjay: " Nothing, I just want to see you,We haven't talked in a while, haven't we?" Lindsay: " Yeah lol" Tjay: " So now, do you have a boyfriend or does anyone make you smile?" Lindsay: is that really it? does it look like there is?you make me laugh too much Lol" " To be honest, nothing" it added Tjay: " With your beauty and talent, no one dared?" Lindsay: " There is, but being in a relationship is not really my priority right now" " How about you?" she asked Tjay:" I already have a girlfriend, and we've been together for 2 years" Lindsay " Oh, it's good to hear that" When Lindsay heard that, she was stunned. It was as if her heart was being pierced because of the pain at Tjay's revelation of having a girlfriend. A mix of conflicting emotions churned within her – a pang of disappointment mingled with a flicker of relief. In the quiet exchange of words, Lindsay found herself grappling with a mix of emotions – a tinge of regret for the path not taken, juxtaposed with a sense of acceptance for the present reality.
