Chapter 7 A few weeks after the encounter with my parents, Darren and I were getting ready for bed when I suggested we have dinner somewhere in the city the following night since he didn’t have a game or practice and my appointments for the day would be over by five. “I can’t,” he said. “I have a dental appointment.” “With me?” I was pretty sure I hadn’t seen his name on my patient list.
