Max's POV "This fucker better be here or I'm going to kick those goddamn balls," I whispered as I swiftly made my entrance on the cafe near us. Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of people inside. Inside was a pair of old couple who seemed like a foreigner having a serious conversation in the middle of the cafe, and some guy sitting in the far corner of the room. It doesn't need a second for me to realize that the weird looking man whose face was covered by a black mask was him. From where I was standing, I can recognize the GUCCY logo from the back of his denim jacket. A groan escaped my lips. I had always wanted that item. After gathering all the confidence, I can muster, I swiftly made my way towards his direction. It wasn't long before he felt my presence. The moment our eyes met, I was startled when he suddenly stood up and offered me a hug like we're some best of friends. "Huh?" my body stiffen for a moment and by the time he pulled away, my eyes noticed how his eyes glint mischievousness. Oh no. This man better not be planning something crazy. "Hello," I tried greeting him respectfully but God knows how I was so trying not to smack his beautiful face. "We're back to being formal I see," he chuckled before guiding me towards an empty seat. I was kinda surprise that he pulled a chair for me. So he's still a gentleman despite being a total a*s jerk huh. Though I prefer to get straight to what we need to talk about, I decided it will be easier to carry on with his stupid mini drama. After sitting down, I was quite surprise when a waiter immediately served us a drink and two slices of cakes. "I do hope you're not on a diet because they are seriously so good," he stated and I looked at him amused. "How did you know? Are you near this place to know what dessert tasted the best out of their menu?" I asked and he chuckled. "Feisty, I see but you have a fair point hunn," he stated and I can no longer take it. i looked at him with a scowl hidden behind my mask. "I'd really like this if you can give me back my cap," I told him straight to the point and he looked at me a little startled. "Wow, it didn't even take us three minutes," he stated and I grunted. There's no point in acting differently towards him. The guy irks me to bits and I'm not even sure why I hated his guts. Maybe because it was because he had taken my cap. That should be it because I never really had encountered him before apart from that. And to be honest, I jam real hard to their songs and I admire him as an artist but I will never tell him that. Not now especially after these events. My eyes widened after he pulled out my cap from behind. "My baby," I can't help but whisper before taking it from his hands hugging it along the process. I miss you. He looked at my reaction amused and I tried acting cool but keeping my composure. "Since you have your cap back, eat your cake because it'll be a waste not to," he stated and my cheeks blushed. Thankful that he actually gave it to me that easily, I pulled my mask a little so I can devour this sweet slice of cake. I'm famished actually since I don't really have no appetite these past days because of this. Now, I can finally eat all I want. I put down the cap on the table and took the spork on my side. As soon as I tasted the cake, a smile immediately plastered on my face. "Oh gosh, this taste really good," I can't help but moan totally forgetting the presence of a beautiful man beside me until I heard him giggle, my cheeks blushing in instant. "You look really adorable," he stated and that's when he removed his own mask. I almost choked on my own saliva the moment he showed me his boxy grin. Before I even knew it, I was already staring at his beautiful face. Goddamn it. Why does his boxy smile get me every time? Just then, I felt a hand gently wiping the corner of my lips, removing the graze of icing left on it. I gulped. Good Lord. "I like the fact that you're not trying to be cute when eating. I mean, most girls eat timidly in front of a man which isn't bad by the way. I just, prefer girls who shows their real self on the first date," and that's what hit me real hard. I started coughing really bad until I felt the water forming at the corner of my eyes. He was quick enough to give me a glass of water while he rubs my back to make me clam down. The moment my cough died down a little, I looked at him incredulously. "Date?" I asked, my mouth hanging wide open. I don't even care if there are bits of cake left in between my teeth. What the heck is he saying? And then I noticed how he was trying to hold back his laughter. This jerk. Is he really making fun of me? He must have noticed the smug expression on my face and tried to keep his laughter. "Sorry, you just really looked so adorable wide your eyes open wide like that," he stated and the thought of being mad at him is getting back on my already peaceful emotion. "Sorry, I don't really want to play this game with you," I told him a little pissed off. How dare he make fun of me? At that, I stood up from my seat and put back my mask on my face. "I think this is enough. Let's not bother each other again," I told him and bowed. He looked taken aback at my action and wasn't able to speak. That made it easier to leave him alone. In a flash, I had already turn my back on him. I was walking back, still fuming when I felt someone grab me gently, turning me in a pivot. My eyes were greeted by his already covered face but I was more startled when he put something on my head. "You forgot your cap, Max. Or do you want another date that's why you left it?" he stated but the seriousness showing on his eyes didn't go unnoticed. He then started fixing my locks of hair under the cap but what he said next made me stood frozen that I was already was. "I was being too playful. I'm sorry," he stated while still fixing my hair and I was so sure that was my heart hammering inside my chest. Did he just apologize to me? "There. The cap really suits you, angel. Send me a message once you're home so I'd know you've arrived safe. Now go before someone sees the two of us," he stated and before turning my body around once again and I'm not sure what happened but my feet started moving on its own until I realized that I was already walking away from that very confusing guy. I don't even know how I managed to get home and when I do, my hand started acting on its own and before I knew it, I had already sent him a message. Me: I'm home. My body plopped on my bed, all the energy that I have now seemed lost altogether. My eyes landed on the cap now resting on my bed. "Baby, I'm so glad you're back with mom," I whispered before closing my eyes. However, the sound of him saying sorry towards me kept ringing on my ears. Was I too harsh on him?
