EPISODE 4 — POSITIVE Maya didn’t sleep that night. She just sat there. Staring at the wall. The test lay on her bedside table like it was alive. Mocking her. Two lines. Can this be true. Is she dreaming. Still there. Still real. “No… this can’t be happening,” she whispered again for the tenth time. Her hands trembled as she pressed them against her stomach. Flat. Normal. So it's still a dream. But everything inside her life had just shifted. Her phone buzzed suddenly. She flinched. It was her best friend. “Hey babe, how did the interview go? Did you manage to help me with the job?” Maya froze. The job. Right. That was the reason she went to that party. Her throat tightened. She couldn’t even answer. Because what would she say? “Hi, I went to save your job… and came back pregnant for a billionaire I don’t even know properly?” She dropped the phone on the bed. “God…” Tears burned her eyes but didn’t fall. She refused to cry. Not yet. God if I had knew I wouldn't have gone, she bowed her head down sobbing. Meanwhile… Across the city. A black Rolls Royce pulled into a towering glass building. Knight Enterprises. Adrian stepped out. Cold. Perfect. Unbothered. As always. Hot. People immediately lowered their heads as he passed. “Good morning, sir.” “Morning, Mr. Knight.” He didn’t respond much. Just a slight nod. But something felt… off. Even to him. He paused inside the elevator. For a brief second. That memory. Darkness. A voice. A kiss. Intense romance. Sxxxx. He frowned slightly. Annoying. He had more important things to deal with. The elevator doors opened. His assistant, Daniel, rushed forward. “Sir, we have the quarterly reports and—” “Cancel everything this morning,” Adrian said flatly. Daniel blinked. “Sir?” “I said cancel it.” No explanation. No emotion. Just command. Daniel nodded quickly, feeling dismir. “Yes sir.”he respond coldly. Adrian walked into his office. Huge glass walls. City view. Power. Control. Everything he usually liked. But today… He stopped at his desk. Something felt wrong. He loosened his tie slightly. A rare gesture. Then he sat down. “Find her,” he said suddenly. Daniel paused. “Sir?” Adrian didn’t look up. “The girl from the masquerade.” Silence. Daniel hesitated. “The masked one?” “Yes.” “You… never gave us her details.” Adrian’s jaw tightened slightly. That was true. He didn’t even know her full identity. Just her voice. Her eyes. Her stubborn attitude. The intense sxxx. And that kiss. He leaned back slightly. “I want her found.” Daniel nodded quickly. “Yes sir. We’ll start immediately.” But even after Daniel left… Adrian didn’t move. His fingers tapped lightly on the table. Annoying. That’s what she was. Just annoying. So why… Did he still remember the way she felt against him? Meanwhile… Maya opened her door slowly. She had made a decision. She needed confirmation. Clinic. Now. Her steps were slow. Heavy. Like her life was dragging her forward. At the hospital reception, she sat down. Her hands clenched tightly. “Name?” “Maya.” “Reason for visit?” She hesitated. “…pregnancy test confirmation.” The nurse nodded professionally. “Come with me.” Everything after that felt like a blur. Blood test. Waiting room. White walls. Clock ticking. Tick. Tick. Tick. Her heartbeat matched it. Finally… The doctor came in. “Miss Maya?” She stood up immediately. “Yes?” The doctor looked at the file. Then at her. “Congratulations,” he said gently. “You’re about six to eight weeks pregnant.” The world stopped. Maya sat down slowly. Her fingers went numb. Her ears rang. No. No. No. She already knew. But hearing it made it real. Too real. The doctor continued talking. But she barely heard anything. “…prenatal care… avoid stress… regular checkups…” All noise. Maya stood up shakily. “Thank you,” she whispered. Then she walked out. Outside the hospital… The sun was too bright. Too normal. People were laughing. Walking. Living. While her world had just collapsed. She touched her stomach again. “I’m really pregnant…” Her voice broke. And somewhere in her mind… One face appeared. Cold eyes. Arrogant smirk. Adrian Knight. She shut her eyes tightly. “This is your fault…” She whispered it into the wind. But deep down… She didn’t even know what she wanted from him yet. Anger? Help? Love? Or revenge? --- And in his office… Adrian suddenly stopped writing. He frowned slightly. A strange feeling hit his chest. Like something had just shifted somewhere far away. He pressed his fingers against his tie. Annoying feeling. He hated it. “Find her faster,” he muttered. And this time… His voice was sharper. More urgent. Because for the first time in his life… Adrian Knight felt like he was losing control of something he didn’t even understand. TO BE CONTINUED…
