Asher

(Asher) I walked out of the packhouse and found my way to the training grounds. I go for a few sessions with the boys. Tonight is Alpha Max’s Alpha Ceremony, and we have been asked to help guard and scout his perimeters. He roped me in on what was going on over in his pack, and I told Jake and Luke about it. I wanted to make sure they knew what the dangers were, but instructed them to tell no one else. “Damn, someone is getting old.” Jake says, howling as I am laid out on the floor. He side kicks me in the leg. I saw him jump above average height in the air and howl. He is a cocky little sh*t, especially when he beats me, which rarely happens. “Calm down before I make you whale like a pup.” I say, punching into his side, making him welp and laugh at the same time. I lunge at him while we go for a few more rounds, until my watch beeps. After getting cleaned up, I put on a pair of all black combat boots. Since Alpha Max nor I know what Blue Moon is facing, the boys and I are surveying unnoticed. Max told his Omegas we were there running some drills, not too much information after. I head to my office to discuss the perimeter plans for the night, while trying to keep them safe. “Our job isn’t to investigate, only to keep rogues out.” I say in a serious tone, part of me is slightly regretting this. “Yes Alpha.” They both say in unison, and with that we head out. (Bandy) I leave my confrontation with Max almost in tears, that a**hole obviously doesn’t care about me. Maybe he will go easy on him. He does in fact need perimeter help - Midnight says as she tries to get me to calm down, great now she's defending him. Out of everyone, how are you OK with this? We have been here for a while and I was looking forward to seeing my family that had just been taken away from us. I snarled at her, feeling completely alone and now angry. If you want to b*tch at me, fine, but stop whining and maybe do something about it - with that. Midnight iced me out. I looked outside, remembering that I could do something. I ran out the front door, and undressed behind a tree so I could save my clothes. I ran out and shifted mid-air, hitting the ground with a thud. Digging my paws into the dirt felt so nice while hearing the wind against my ears. I looked at the forest and took off running, hoping to catch a scent while running. I pick up a scent while heading up the run south, I howl as I want them to know I am near. I saw someone standing on top of a rockface. I quickly shift back into human form behind a tree. I look at the sun as it cuts through the trees, seeing an outlined silhouette, it’s Asher. I ran up to him while trying to catch him off guard. He, of course, grabs my arms and throws me over his shoulder. He pins me down and I wince, while staring directly into his brown eyes. I heard Finn whimper, as he could barely contain his excitement. I look up at him and my eyes light up, he helps me up and pulls me into a hug. (Asher) Standing on a rockface, I sweep the perimeter, I keep my ears up and eyes squinted. I closed my eyes for a moment to take in my surroundings. I open my eyes as I feel the wind whistling. I stop when I smell her, Brandy, in the distance trying to sneak up on me, no doubt. I heard her loud footsteps as they approached. I grabbed her arm and swung. I pin her to the ground with ease as I hear Finn going crazy in my head. We missed her. I looked into her eyes, feeling fulfilled. “I thought Blue Moon asked you here cuz you were skilled.” I asked her, ducking while he took a swing at me. “One day I am going to sneak up on you properly you lil sh*t.” Brandy, giving a playful growl. I looked into her eyes and pulled her into another hug. I didn’t know how much I missed her till now. I looked down at her and smiled, “don’t you have a ceremony to attend?” I asked, a little proud she chose to see me, instead of being with Max. “I do not have to answer Max, he is not my Alpha.” She says as I detect a little spite in her voice, I want to go up to Max and kill him. Hearing her upset about living here is making me angry, but it shouldn’t. “I was just looking forward to seeing you and the boys, but Max told me about Alpha Shadow reaching out to you.” I look at her and my heart races, I feel my body heat up. I see a twinkle in her eyes and I let out a slight whine, seeing her is bringing up feelings. “Can you go swimming really quick, I know you're working, but.” Brandy asks me in an almost begging tone. My mind linked to the boys to see if they could cover my section for around 20 minutes. Once I get the all clear, I give her a nod and a smile, I hear her squeak as she runs toward the creek. I run after her with anxiety in my chest, a feeling I get only when fighting. I strip down to my boxers, seeing Brandy's head in the water in her bra and underwear. I dive in head first while stroking my arms. I love the feeling of the cold water on my skin. We started swimming around and splashing, laughing and swimming. I picked her up and threw her into the water, before she hit the water, making a splash. I see Brandy swimming towards the rocks, “we should probably get out now, I’m sure you gotta get back.” She says as I see her ringing out her hair, as the light outlines her figure. I swam towards the rocks shaking my body off. Thanks to my wolf's body heat, it’s pretty easy. I looked up to see Brandy staring at me. I can’t read her expression but I have a feeling it isn’t good. “Why did Alpha Shadow ask you to patrol? What’s going on that I’m not aware of?” She asks me while glaring in my direction. Now I can clearly see her getting angry. She is one of our best trackers, so not a lot gets past her. It was always very hard to keep anything from her at Silver Fox. She was quite the detective. I give her a pause, debating how to handle the situation, and not getting her anger directed at myself. “They trust Silver Fox the most, and know that our allegiance is strong. Our packs have been allies for decades and if anyone could be trusted, he knew his best chance was with us.” I see her eying me, barely believing anything I’m saying, I can see she is trying to read my face. “I have known you a long time, Asher, and never did I peg you as someone to keep secrets from your people.” She says as she is glaring at me, panic sets in as I think fast. “Look Brandy, Max has his big ceremony tonight, and all of his men are there with him. He reached out and told us about his rogue problem, and how there are threats they are not sure about. We are their allies, and part of that is providing assistance when needed. As Alpha, I do not get to pick and choose when to help out our fellow comrades, that is not being a good Alpha.” I use a more stern tone than normal. I can tell this throws her off a little. I don’t enjoy deceiving her, but I also need to keep my people safe and that includes her. We finish walking back while casually chatting. We kept a light conversation. She is telling me about her new kitchen friends, and how she is starting to gain the respect of the Omegas. Hearing her so happy makes me happy, but I also worry if she will ever want to come home. It’s because of her that our pack is doing so well, and it makes me a little jealous of how much she likes Blue Moon. She looks at me with her wet hair dangling. I can tell her expression lightened. She steps forward and smiles, instantly sending butterflies to my stomach. “You are a good Alpha, and I am proud of you for standing by those in need.” She leans over and kisses my cheek, before running back into the forest. If I wasn’t on guard duty I might have fainted, it would take everything in me not to run after her.
