Sebastian's POV
"She's been inside too long."
Lucas does not respond immediately. He checks his watch, then the house, then me.
"Twenty-three minutes," he says.
Seven minutes left before I go in anyway.
I do not like waiting. I do not like sitting in a parked car while Aurora walks into a house full of people who have spent years lying to her face. But she asked to do this alone, and I am learning, slowly, that Aurora Sinclair does not ask for things unless she means them.
So I wait.
My phone buzzes: unknown number. I open it before I decide whether I want to. The birth certificate changes everything. Ask Aurora whose name was on it. I read the message twice.
Birth certificate.
That means Aurora found something inside. Something with a name. Something important enough for the mess
