"I didn't ruin anything." The words come out before I decide to say them.
Catherine Reed does not move. She just watches me with those sharp eyes, like she is measuring exactly how much damage I am capable of.
"You exist," she says. "That was enough." I feel Sebastian shift beside me. His voice is cold when he speaks. "What are you doing here, Catherine?" She turns her head slowly toward him.
