Adelaide jumped up and down on the bed, excitement radiating from her. "I need to tell Tatiana!" she exclaimed, dashing out of the room. She rushed to the slave chambers, but didn't find Tatiana there. "They must be working by now," Adelaide muttered to herself. She made her way to the working background, where she spotted Tatiana laboring away. "Tatiana!" Adelaide screamed, rushing to her side and throwing her arms around her. "Hey, aren't you among them? Start working now before I change my mind!" the guard yelled at Adelaide. But before he could say another word, Lucifer appeared, his presence commanding attention. "She is no longer among them, and never yell at her again," Lucifer scolded, his voice low and menacing. The guard and everyone around them bowed, their eyes wide in surprise. "Is it true?" Tatiana whispered to Adelaide, her voice barely audible. Adelaide nodded, and Tatiana's eyes widened in shock. "But why?" Moonlight, another slave, spoke up. "Some of us have been working for years, months, but we haven't been stopped. Yet she's just here for a few days and she's no longer working? It's not fair!" Lucifer's eyes turned red as he growled, "And who are you to question my order?" The slaves cowered, but Adelaide stepped forward. "Please don't hurt her," she begged, her voice shaking. Lucifer's eyes returned to normal, and the slaves gasped in surprise. No one had ever begged him before, and he listened. The slaves began to whisper among themselves, congratulating Adelaide on her good fortune. Tatiana screamed with joy, hugging Adelaide tightly. That night, Adelaide fell asleep, but her rest was short-lived. She was plagued by a dream, and when she woke up, she was breathing fast. A familiar voice spoke to her, and she turned to see Lucifer standing beside her. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face. "The dream again?" Adelaide nodded, and Lucifer's expression turned determined. "Then you will sleep in my room," he said, his voice firm. Adelaide's eyes widened as Lucifer's words hung in the air. "I need you by my side tonight," he said, his voice low and husky. Adelaide's mind reeled as she wondered how he had gotten to her room so quickly. Before she could process her thoughts, Lucifer led her to his room, and she collapsed onto his bed, exhausted. As she slept, Lucifer gazed at her, his eyes filled with a deep affection. "You've been mine for years now," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "You still look beautiful, just like your mom." A soft smile played on his lips as he gently washed her face. The next morning, Adelaide woke up to find Lucifer lying beside her, his eyes open and fixed on her. "Did you see her again?" he asked, his voice gentle. "No, I slept peacefully," Adelaide replied, her voice still husky from sleep. Lucifer's expression turned serious. "I want to ask you a question. Who sold you? Where is your mom?" Adelaide's eyes dropped, and she whispered, "My mom is dead." The scene flashed back to Adelaide's past: A woman, her mother, stood tall, her eyes blazing with determination. "You're not taking my daughter anywhere without me," she declared to a man, Marcus. "Either I go with her, or you forget about it." The man sneered. "Seriously, this girl is my daughter. I'm not leaving without her." The woman's voice rose. "I'm never letting you take her unless I come with you." The man scoffed. "Okay, let's go." As they walked away from the crowd, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in the heart. "Marcus!" the woman screamed, her voice filled with pain and betrayal. "Died Ariel, died. Me and you have nothing together. This girl will go with me." The little girl, Adelaide, cried out for her mother as the man dragged her away. "Mommy!" she wailed. The flashback ended, and Adelaide sobbed, the pain still raw. "My father killed my mom, and he maltreated me and sold me," she choked out. Lucifer's expression softened, and he pulled her into a gentle hug. "Sorry," he whispered, holding her as she cried on his shoulder. Eventually, she fell asleep, exhausted. As Lucifer lay beside her, he got up and walked out of the room. "Tatiana," Cheng called out. Tatiana turned to see Cheng standing behind her. "Hey, Cheng," she said, a hint of surprise in her voice. Cheng's face lit up, and he pulled Tatiana into a tight hug. "I miss you," he said, his voice filled with emotion. As they disengaged, he leaned in and kissed her. Tatiana pushed him away, her eyes wide in shock. "What was that?" Tatiana asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Cheng's eyes locked onto hers, his expression serious. "Tatiana, can't you see that I'm in love with you? I love you, Tatiana." Tatiana's face went blank, and she didn't know what to say or do. "I love you, please give me a chance," Cheng said, his eyes pleading with Tatiana. She looked at him, her expression unreadable, before she suddenly turned and ran away. Cheng watched her go, a mixture of hope and despair on his face. "Cheng," Lucifer called out, his voice interrupting Cheng's reverie. "Brother," Cheng replied, turning to face Lucifer. "Are you seriously in love with that girl?" Lucifer asked, his tone laced with amusement. Cheng swallowed hard before responding, "I think so." "She's not your mate, Cheng. She's a human. You can mate with her, but it won't be the same. Go look for your mate; she might be out there," Lucifer advised, his words tinged with a hint of concern. "But, brother, this feeling I feel for her is really taking over me," Cheng confessed, his voice filled with frustration. Lucifer's expression turned serious. "Well, I want us to talk." He began walking towards Cheng's room, and Cheng followed, sighing in resignation. As they entered the room, Lucifer asked, "Do you remember the place where you used to release Adelaide's spirit?" Cheng shook his head. "I don't think so." Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "Are you that dumb?" he snapped. Cheng bristled at the jab. "Hey, easy, bro. I think I can find it with my power as a wizard." He raised his hands, and his eyes turned dark. Dark tendrils began to emanate from his hands as he muttered an incantation. "I've found it," he declared. "We're going there right now," Lucifer said, his voice firm. "Why?" Cheng asked, curiosity getting the better of him. "This witch is frustrating me with her meddling with Delai. I don't like it. I need to know what she wants from Adelaide and why she wants to kill her," Lucifer explained. "So, we're going now?" Cheng asked, a hint of excitement in his voice. "Yes," Lucifer replied. "I'll come with you on one condition," Cheng said, a determined look on his face. "What's that?" Lucifer asked, his brow raised. "I don't want Tatiana to continue being a slave," Cheng said, his voice firm. "We'll talk about that when we return. For now, we need to go to that witch," Lucifer said, his patience wearing thin. He turned and walked out, Cheng following closely behind. They mounted their horses and rode into the forest. Meanwhile, at Marcus's house, Narmada visited the physician's house. "Narmada, why are you here?" the physician asked, surprise etched on her face. "I came so that you can teach me how to use my power," Narmada replied, her eyes shining with determination. "Your power?" the physician repeated, her tone skeptical. "Yes, I need to know how to use it. I can't have a power without knowing how to use it. I need to use this gift, please teach me how to use it," Narmada pleaded, her voice filled with urgency.
