Chapter 7 Ruthless kiss

461 Words
“You lied to me.” I threw the hospital report at Adrian’s chest. 3 months remission. No surgery needed. My mother was fine. He didn’t flinch. “I didn’t lie. I said I owned her doctors. I never said she was dying.” “You let me think—” “I let you choose.” He stepped closer, 100 floors of Lagos behind him. “N2 million for a night, or N50 million for an heir. You chose the heir, Lily. Don’t rewrite history.” “Because you blackmailed me!” “Because you were desperate enough to sell yourself to a stranger.” His hand caught my chin. “We’re the same. We both use what we have to survive.” I slapped him. Hard. He didn’t move. But his eyes went black. Dangerous. “You hit me,” he said softly. Like it was a miracle. “I’ll do it again.” “Good.” Then his mouth was on mine. Not gentle. Not asking. It was punishment and hunger and 18 days of locked doors exploding. His hands fisted in my hair, tilting my head back. His tongue forced my lips open and I tasted whiskey and rage and something that felt like pain. I bit him. He growled into my mouth and pushed me against the window. 100 floors of nothing at my back. His body was the only thing keeping me from falling. “Adrian—” “Say my name again,” he breathed against my lips. “Not Mr. Kane. Not my husband. Say ADRIAN.” “Adrian,” I gasped. His hand slid under my shirt, flat on my stomach. Over our twins. “MINE,” he said against my mouth. “You. Them. Mine.” The intercom buzzed. “Sir. The DNA results are in. Miss Okoro’s child is not yours.” Adrian didn’t look away from me. Didn’t stop touching me. “Burn her contract,” he told the intercom. “And have security escort her off Kane property. She’s trespassing.” Then he kissed me again. Slower this time. Like he was learning me. When we broke apart, both breathing hard, he rested his forehead on mine. “No more contracts, Lily. No more south wing. No more locks.” “Then what are we?” He looked at our twins on the ultrasound photo taped to his desk. “We’re parents,” he said. “Figure out the rest later.” That night, I slept in the master suite. Door unlocked. And for the first time, Adrian Kane slept on the floor next to my side of the bed. Hand on my stomach. Guarding his heirs. I didn’t understand him. But I was starting to want to.
