Logan stared out the window, his thoughts drifting back to the infirmary. He was certain something had been off about that place.
“What’s on your mind?” Tiffany asked, straddling his thigh in an attempt to seduce him. But it wasn’t working.
Frustrated by his silence, she clenched her fists and stood up in anger.
“Why aren’t you feeling anything?!” she half-yelled.
Logan sighed, placing a hand on his temple and rubbing gently. His ice-like eyes trailed to her, and he frowned.
“I’m busy,” he muttered.
Tiffany bit her lower lip. “Too busy for me?” she asked, slowly tugging her shirt upward. Logan smirked faintly.
“I guess it can wait,” he murmured.
Tiffany walked back to him, settled on his lap, and wrapped her legs around his waist, pecking his lips softly.
Their lips moved against each other, tasting and teasing—licking, biting, and sucking with pleasure. She rolled her hips, coaxing a groan from him as his hand slipped down to grab her butt and squeezed tightly.
Then the door burst open and they both froze.
A maid stood at the entrance, trembling, instantly regretting her decision.
“I’m sorry!” she blurted, before slamming the door shut and bolting.
Tiffany’s eyes darkened as she gritted her teeth, silently cursing the maid for ruining her perfect opportunity.
She wanted Logan’s seed—and the only way to get it was through intimacy. This wasn’t their first heated session, but Logan had always made it clear: he didn’t want children.
Tiffany stubbornly ignored the fact that Logan was still waiting for his fated mate.
She forced a smile, trailing her hands over his chest, trying to continue from where they’d stopped.
Logan was the classic cruel Alpha son—cold, dominant—but he had a soft spot for his girls. He spoiled Tiffany endlessly with gifts, even handed her his credit card, and supported her in every way. No girl would ever want to lose that kind of man.
But…
Logan gently pushed her off. His desire had vanished.
Still, Tiffany was relentless. She moved closer again, pressing kisses to his neck and letting out soft moans.
But Logan’s expression shifted—his face turned cold.
Tiffany froze.
That fiery Alpha gaze... It was something no commoner could challenge—not even a Luna. It was the look that said: Obey, or perish.
No Alpha would dare look at his Luna that way. But he’d just done it to her.
The more distant he became, the more she knew—she had to win. She had to claim him permanently.
Tiffany stood, slipped on her sandals, and walked out. It was the only sensible thing to do now.
BACK AT SNOW’S HOME
Snow gazed at the sky, letting the blush-pink atmosphere melt across her skin and seep into her tense body. For the first time, she felt truly alive and cozy.
Today was the only break from school, from the bullying, from the pain—a one-day holiday granted to every student.
She attended one of the best schools in the pack—admittance was only for the smart and skillful, and she had passed brilliantly.
She studied day and night, honed multiple skills, and was still improving her combat training.
She remembered her first combat session vividly, she’d broken a rib or two. Worse, her sparring partner had been Tiffany.
The girl had hated her from day one, and Snow had barely survived her first year. But Ace and Ms. Happy, the history teacher, had made things a little brighter.
Thinking of Ace made her smile softly.
She had waited for him to return to school. He had always been there for her, even stood up to Logan more than once.
Whenever he was around, no one dared hurt her. His hugs were warm and soothing, and he always managed to put a smile on her face, even when she cried.
“Who’s the lucky guy? Is he hot and worth that smile?” Ava’s voice rang from behind, making Snow quickly wipe the grin from her face.
“Arhmmm...” Snow cleared her throat, trying to stay composed.
Ava chuckled, walking up beside her and gazing at her daughter.
“I have such a beautiful daughter,” she praised, and Snow blushed.
“Gosh, Mom, stop,” she muttered, turning her face away as her ears turned pink.
Ava poked her ear gently, and Snow pouted, flashing puppy eyes. Ava’s expression softened as she looked back up at the sky.
“Snow, we won’t be home this evening. You’ll have the house to yourself,” Ava said casually.
Snow’s puppy-dog expression faded. “What?”
Panic crept into her chest. She had never been alone before. Just the thought of it made her heart race.
“Your dad and I will be out, and Asher’s going on patrol with another wolf. There was an attack on the far side of the pack. It’s still under investigation, but Gamma wolves are needed,” Ava explained.
Snow forced a cheerful smile. “No problem. I’ll be expecting you all back safely. Tell Asher not to overwork himself.”
Though she was worried for their safety, the least she could do was wish them a safe return.
Ava pinched her cheeks, smiling.
“You’re growing up so fast,” she said, and Snow smiled back, her heart full. She pulled her mother into a hug.
“Come home safe—with Dad and Asher,” she whispered.
Ava wrapped her arms around her. “I will, darling.”
Flinch and Asher watched the two from a distance, soft smiles tugging at their lips.
“What a woman I married, right?” Flinch said proudly.
Asher rolled his eyes. “Now I want to barf,” he muttered, walking away. Flinch shot him a glare.
---
An hour later, Snow was packing bags for her parents and Asher. She’d even slipped in some snacks, though they’d all protested.
“That’s enough. If you add more, I won’t survive carrying these bags,” Asher groaned.
Snow paused. “But you’re strong and amazing. How could you not carry them?” she asked innocently.
Asher sighed, defeated. As long as she looked at him with those eyes, he had no choice.
“Just put it inside the bag” he muttered, groaning.
Packing was finally done. Everyone was suited up for their responsibilities and Snow looked at them with admiration.
“Good luck,” she said, giving hugs, air kisses, and a thumbs-up.
They left, and Snow waved them off before shutting the door behind her. She inhaled deeply and started down the stairs.....
'Ding-dong.'
The doorbell rang.
“Huh?” she murmured in confusion. Maybe they forgot something?
“I’m coming!” she called out, sipping her strawberry smoothie and heading to the door.
She opened it—only for her eyes to widen in shock.
The smoothie slipped from her fingers, crashing to the floor, splattering everywhere.
