Chapter 13: Kidnapping

Triana called security to drag Shanice out of the building. She was crying and screaming for forgiveness, but she knew it was over for her. Avyanna saw security dragging Shanice and rushed to Leon’s office. “Morning, what’s happening? Lea is trending everywhere, and I learned this morning from my dad that Lea’s dad destroyed one of the powerful gangs and sent them to jail. It might be the reason why he didn't want her identity to be known as his child because they might harm her. What I'm saying is the leader of the gang was released from jail a year ago, and they’re operating underground.” Leon was scared for his life. He understood the whole mess he had done. “Let's protect Lea; she is now one of our own. We can’t let this happen,” Triana responded. “I am scared, Triana, but I can ask my brother for help; he's around,” Avyanna said, shaking. “I need to inform my dad about this, but it will cost me a lot, even this company. What have I done? Lea doesn't want anything to do with me; I have harmed her.”

Lea and Brandon were driving along each to make a press conference at work, but Lea got a call from an unknown source. "Lea, don't go anywhere today, stay indoors until you get a call from me." But it was already too late. The next moment, Lea was crushed by another car, causing her to overturn and roll down. Brandon, who was driving behind her, was devastated. He quickly parked the car aside. Lea was badly hurt, and he managed to take her out of the car and drove her to the private hospital. There was a car that had been following them. Brandon didn’t know who to call, so he ended up calling Eleanor, who was still with her boyfriend Daniel. “Brandon, how are you? I have seen the news. I am working on suing every journalist who published, even their companies.” Brandon was breathing heavily in the hospital. “Eleanor, it's Lea. We were driving to the office for a press conference, she was involved in a car accident. It is bad. I am at the hospital.”

Eleanor was shocked, "Which hospital, Brandon, don't leave her side." Daniel overheard the call, “Babe, Lea’s life is not safe anymore. I will have to save her. I will explain this later. Call Ivan to meet me at the hospital.” Daniel kissed Eleanor and left in a hurry. Ivan Junior Smith was Daniel’s brother, the sons of former late Ivan Senior Smith who died in the war of gangs. He was part of the group which was fighting the drug lords, and he was known as a troublemaker. Ivan, who had been busy with his life, was stunned to get a call from Eleanor. He dropped everything and drove to the hospital. Daniel was at the hospital. He told Brandon to inform Mrs. White about Lea’s condition and reassured him that she would be safe, but he didn't have to know anything for him to be safe. “Daniel, why did you want me here?” Daniel was happy that his brother could drop anything to help him.

"Lea is Snake’s daughter, her identity was leaked this morning and now she is involved in an accident. Something doesn't seem right. Help me hide her until we reach her daddy." Ivan didn’t need to understand, but he knew what his brother meant. They sneaked with Lea using back doors. Lea was scared; she couldn’t fight, but Daniel told her she was safe, they are not kidnapping her. When they got to the car, Daniel called Eleanor to speak to Lea so she could understand that he was helping. He dialed Eleanor’s number, who had been busy with the Exquisite challenge. “Hey Danny, did you manage to save her before the culprit could finish the job?” When Daniel explained to Eleanor that his daddy was part of what happened and he died the same night, she felt the pain. Daniel was raised by one of Mr. White's businesses as a promise to his friend, the Troublemaker.Lea was happy to hear from someone that she was in better with the people who rescued her. There was a commotion at the hospital, with a stranger claiming to be Lea’s uncle. “Sorry, nurse, I’m looking for my niece Lea - Candice White,” the nurse responded, "Lea is in ward 23." The man left and went straight to the ward. Ivan didn’t follow him but left the hospital. When Ivan left the mansion, he was driving a Mercedes but he stopped somewhere to change cars. He was now driving a VW Golf. Ivan has always used tricks to not travel with one car. He wasn't called Chameleon for no reason; it was because he always blended well with people. Daniel went to drop Lea at their safe house where Ivan was staying before they contacted his father. Triana, Avyanna, and Leon left the company to check on Lea at the mansion, but they were followed without them knowing. Triana was not paying attention because she wasn’t aware that Leon was part of the gang’s plan.

Brandon called Avyanna to try to warn Leon. Luckily, they were together. Avyanna passed the phone to Leon. “Hi Brandon, is Lea okay? We are on the way to check on her.” Brandon panicked. “Leon, Daniel informed me to warn you to lay low because you are not safe.” The next moment, the car parked in front of Triana’s car, not being able to overtake. The other car was behind when men stepped out with guns. “Brandon, we have been ambushed. Please tell the man that told me I am not safe that they have found me with Triana and Avyanna.” Leon didn’t end the call; instead, he let Brandon listen. They took everyone, and Avyanna was screaming. “I am the minister’s daughter, you i***t! Don't touch me! Help! You are a dead meat, Diego won't spare your life." Brandon’s heart went numb to learn that they were all captured. He informed Daniel, but he was terrified when he was told they were the minister’s daughter, not Lea. Even Daniel didn't know that Avyanna was the daughter of the minister.
