I woke up in a blur the next morning when I realized that I am not in my own room as I picked up my head. I started to remember when I laid my head back down as my head pounded.
Shit
I called Max.
Fuck.
What did I do?
I groaned as I heard a knock on the door. I slowly picked up my head as I propped myself on my elbows when I saw him standing there.
He was a god. Tee shirt and sweatpants. He looked domestic. I am so used to seeing him in suits or dresser clothes.
He cleared his throat, “Can I come in?” I nodded as he lifted from the door frame and walked over to me. He sat down on the bed as I lowered my head, “I am sorry about…” He placed his hand on mine, “No. You have nothing to be sorry about. I should have told you about Lily. I should have known she would pull something.”
He tilted his head, “How are you feeling?” I laid my head down, “Like a thousand trucks just drove over my head and backed up.” He chuckled as he leaned over to the nightstand. He held a glass of water, “Sit, up. Here is something to take the edge off of the headache and you need to hydrate.”
I nodded as I took the Advil and water out of his hands. I lowered my glass after washing down the Advil, “Where are we?” He chuckled, “My penthouse.” I nodded when I realize that I am in his shirt and I have nothing underneath, “Did we?”
He shook his head, “I do some f****d up s**t to those that don’t understand my lifestyle, but I would never take advantage of anyone. You was extremely drunk.” I rolled my eyes, “Don’t remind me.”
He took a deep breath, “There is a shower over there.” He pointed to the door next to the bed, “I have breakfast set up on the patio for when you are done.” He patted my knee as I got up.
Twenty minutes later I walked downstairs and out to the patio. Max sat looking towards the lake that was off to his right. I sat across the table from him in his bathrobe as he smiled. “Feeling better?”
He asked as a cup of coffee was placed in front of me, “Yes, Thank you.” He nodded, “I bet you will not do that again.” I shook my head, “One drink is my limit.” He chuckled, “Technical you shouldn’t be drinking at all.” I tilted my head, “You can’t tell me that you didn’t drink when you was my age.” He smirked, “Oh, I did. But I didn’t have someone that cared for me to watch out for me like you do.”
He sighed, “If you want to drink. Do it here. Invite your friends and have as much as you want. Just don’t leave until you are sober up.”
He picked his coffee as he sipped it then tapped his finger on the bowl of fruit, “Eat. Love.”
I nodded as I picked at the bow when he sighed, “She twenty years older than me.” I looked up at him as I tilted my head as he turned his chair to face me, “Who?” He bowed his head, “Lily.”
I nodded, “Okay?” He shook his head, “It was right before my twenty birthday when we got married. Six months later, I found her f*****g my brother.” I shook my head, “Why would he do that?” He sat back, “She has an identical twin, and he was stupid drunk. I forgave him but she knew what she was doing.”
I nodded, “Just for the record, I have no siblings that I am aware of.” He chuckled, “I started to date her when I was eighteen. She was the love of my life. Or that is what I try to tell myself at the time.”
He reached across the table to place his fingers on top of mine, “I was f****d up in the head from my father’s friend that took my virginity away. That is why I wanted to make sure that it was special for you.” I smirked at him as I blushed, “It was.” He nodded, “I am glad. When Lily came into my life, I was. Well, gone into the deep end. Drunk all the time shit.”
I tilted my head, “She knew how to pull you out.” He sighed, “She introduced me to this lifestyle. I was the submissive that was allowing her to take my pain away.” He shook his head, “She said that sleeping with my brother was her way of punishing me.” I shook my head, “That is an excuse to cheat.”
He smiled at me as he pulled my fingers towards him, ‘It is a poor excuse for cheating.” I nodded as he looked up, “I filed for a divorce that day. Mack helped me get everything finalized. I didn’t talk to her for almost a year then.” He shrugged his shoulders, “I stop caring. Shut off my heart until now. Until I met you.”
I took a deep breath, “I think you said something about you was using her the way she used you.” He chuckled, “She contacted me apologizing and she wanted me back. I told her that I would never want her back, but I would become her dom. I told her when I decide to have someone submit to me then we stopped, and I go back once I was done.”
I took a deep breath as I turned my head, “So that what she meant when she said you will be back with her.”
He nodded his head then got up from his chair, pulled my chair towards him as he leaned down
I looked up at the sky as I tightened the robe around me, “And how would she know what we have.” He looked up at me, “Because of the way I look when I talked about you.” I shook my head, “So, you did tell her.” He shook his head, “No. She overheard me when I was talking with Mack. I was telling him to stamp Lily’s contract as expired with a no returned date.”
I shook my head, “How did she know who I was?” He sighed, “She was at the club when I went up to you. She saw how protective I was over you. She didn't realize that I noticed her” He ran his hand through his hair, “f**k, Sabrina. I never been this protective over anyone before, not even Lily before she broke my heart.”
***********************************************************************************************************
She gave a slight smile as I placed my hand on her face, “So you didn’t protect any of the other girls.” I shook my head, “I did but not the way I do with you. I would run through fire for you.”
I bowed my head, “It scares the s**t out of me how much I want to protect you.” I felt her small fingers go through my hair then to my jawline when I looked up at her, “I forgive you.” I smiled as she leaned down, “If there is any other crazy ex that I should know about. Please tell me.”
I smiled at her, “There is only one and her name is Lily.” She placed her lips against mine as I lifted up and placed her into my arms, “I told her to leave you alone. If she bothers you, again. Don’t run from me. Tell me.” She nodded her head as I placed my lips back on her.
Reminding myself that we need to have a conversation about that scar on her lower back.
