Nate's POV
Once I was done with addressing the people, I stood up and left the courtroom, with Andrew trailing behind me.
Of course, Elsa was with me. We were holding hands. I had not seen any more reason to make the pain longer by indulging the elders’ continuous questions. I knew that the list would only keep getting stronger.
I had a plan. My best bet was to make sure that I take time away to get better then we will see about the usurper. The only condition I had was that James let me stay in the pack house and that he will not disturb me or my people for any reason.
Layla seemed to be very excited about the fact that I had introduced her to everyone as my wife. Given our previous relationship, only the elders of the pack knew the arrangement between us so she wasn’t exactly known
