Isabella POV
As I wake up, I quickly look around, not believing I’m back in my bed. The room was almost completely silent. With only the monitors next to my bed beeping, letting me know I was still alive. I can’t believe I made it back, where was Marcus, though? I slowly get up out of bed, causing myself to stumble against my nightstand. I wasn’t expecting to feel so weak and dizzy, I thought Titania had helped heal me. Someone has to be near to let them know I was awake, Marcus wouldn't just leave me by myself, would he? I couldn’t help but hope that Marcus was near, but I would be just as happy to see Max in the next room too. I use the wall to steady myself until I make it to Marcus’s door. All of a sudden I am startled when I hear a thud noise against the wall. Cracks began to show up on my side of the wall letting me know that whatever was going on, it couldn’t be good. What the hell is going on in there?
I slowly open the door to peer through a crack, hoping that I wasn’t in any danger. Let’s be honest, I wasn’t in any condition to run and hide. As the door creaked wider, I could not believe what I see in front of me. My heartfelt like it shattered the moment I saw that Marcus had someone on his lap, dry humping him as he drank from her. I step back into my room, trying to control my rage, not wanting Marcus to see me like this. You got to be f*****g kidding me, is that really what he is into?
Marcus is supposed to be mine. He isn't supposed to be touching anyone, but me. Before I could second guess myself, I sling my door open, causing it to crash into my wall announcing my presence. With a flick of my hand, the woman goes flying off Marcus’s lap and into a bookshelf, I took joy as I watched her crumble to the floor. Marcus’s eyes grow when he notices me standing there fuming at him.
I slowly approach Marcus, wanting him to hear my venom-laced words. "You said I was yours, Marcus, you made me think you loved me. I unknowingly drank poison, seriously f*****g poison.” By now I was yelling as the tears fell, not caring if it made me seem weak. I was hurting and I didn’t know how to control the power that was radiating through my body. Looking down at my hands, you could see a red hue coming from them.
“But here I wake up to this sh*t. Do you actually care, or was it all a lie? Was I not easy enough for you? Like as a pet am I required to blow you to please you or something because waking up to this sh*t is too much, Marcus. I slowly lower myself to his floor letting the pain take over, a small hiccup slipping out in between tears “Is there even a point in me completing the tasks Marcus if you're not solely mine also? Or would it be better that I just am a good Lil pet and stay to myself?” Marcus just sits there blinking debating on what to say, “Isabelle you are awake!” I-what-how…” He rises to walk towards me, but I don't want his hands on me after he just touched that thing. Glancing over towards the nearly naked woman, I couldn’t help to wonder if she was even breathing. I slowly get up off the floor Marcus attempted to help but I pushed his hand away, “No don’t you dare try to touch me, Marcus, you lost that the moment you allowed her in here.” I turned to go back into my room, casting a bright beam around my door, making sure Marcus wouldn’t be able to follow me into my room. It will be a cold day in hell until I let him back near me. I crumble to my floor, letting the tears fall. F*ck Marcus and those tasks, I should have left the moment I was given the chance.
Marcus POV
What the hell just happened? Isabella is awake, Anastasie just got slung like a damn rag doll, and now Isabella’s door is glowing and no one can get it open. Max had Barbra take Anastasie to the medical center to get fixed up. The throw caused her to bust the back of her head open and would need stitches. Everyone stood looking at Isabella’s door, wondering how to get the door open, I heard a yap and turned to see one of the guard’s hair looking fried. It seems the door zaps the piss out of anyone who gets too close. I just want to check on my Bella, but can’t seem to ignore the more daunting question in the room, and that would be what the hell is she because just a few weeks ago she was a human. Humans cannot seal doors shut with glowing lights, the last time I checked.
I call out for Max, with him appearing around the corner in a matter of minutes.“Max, what do I do? I really messed up.” I sit on my couch wondering how things went wrong so fast. “Sir, what were you even doing that pissed Miss Isabella off that much? I thought you were right beside her since she entered the coma. Don't get me wrong I know you took breaks but to not be there the moment she woke up something doesn’t sit well with me. I don’t even get what Anastasie was doing in your room, I was present when you had ended things with her months ago. What made you bring that hag into this room?” I stare at the floor, realizing how bad I messed this up. “Sh*t, I don't know, Max. I don't. I walked out of the shower and she was in my room, I then told her thanks for the food and dismissed her. I had no plans for her to stay in here. Somehow she got under my skin and I tore into her neck. That was it, Anastasie was simply a meal. I didn’t even hear Isabella get up, I was enraged and only focused on the meal in front of me. Max I f*cked up bad, help me fix this, please. I need my Isabella.”
“Sir it's dinner time, why don’t I go fetch Miss Isabella a tray, you can get ready for dinner and go downstairs. Take time to catch up with the family and to update them on Isabella’s recovery. I will try to coax her out and to fix this mess you created.” Max rubbed his eyes letting me see his frustration at me, but that's nothing new here lately, it seems I had the gift to cause disappointment. “Max, I don't care how you do it, just get her to come out, please. Hopefully, by the time I get back, she'll be ready to talk and to understand what she saw isn’t what it seems.” I walk off to get ready, praying Max could help me.
