KAANI MOOPAN’S STORY (Narrated by Noah) It was the great deluge which destroyed our lives, the rivers went mad and the forest shed tears endlessly that drenched the mountains displacing huge rocks from its top. They rammed into the valley like musth infested bull pachyderms. The valley flooded and our huts made of bamboos and grasses were swallowed by the raging cascades forcing us to leave the valley and migrate to a higher place. We lived in the boarder of forest buffered by the swamp which sprouted no grass, my grandfather was the chieftain then, his name was Mathu, Mathu Moopan.
