Chapter Nine

1099 Words
Persephone looked at Hades then back to Athena. “Seven years? You must be mistaken,” Persephone said trying to dismiss Athena’s statement. “We only met three years ago. How could he petition to marry me before he even met me?” “Perhaps I’ve said too much,” Athena said offhandedly. “We should get going anyway. Let the new couple have some private time together.” There were murmurs in agreement. Persephone stared down at her lap in disbelief. If what Athena said was true, she was only fourteen years old when he petitioned to marry her. Embarrassment burned at her cheeks. Hot tears began to cloud her vision when she felt someone’s hand on her shoulder. When she looked up her eyes met Hera’s. She leaned down, placing a kiss upon Persephone’s cheek. “If you ever change your mind, call for me, I’ll help you,” Hera whispered into her ear. Would Persephone ever need to use the Queen of the Gods assistance to escape her marriage? They had only been married for a few hours. Why would someone offer her an out so quickly? Why was her mother so against a union between her and Hades? Her mind was filled with even more questions with no answers in sight yet. “I would like for Eumelia to escort me to my chambers, I need sometime to myself to think,” Persephone quietly requested. Her eyes were glued to the ground in front of her, she did not want to see if he was angry or hurt. Hades stepped towards her gently outstretching his arm towards her. Persephone flinched away from is grasp. The pain that flashed across his eyes when his hand dropped lifelessly to his side was enough to make her instantly regret doing so. Hades replied curtly, “I apologize for not having your own room ready for you. I assumed you would share a bedchamber with me since we are now man and wife. It is no matter; I can sleep elsewhere. I will call for your maiden.” Hades turned walking away from her. She felt an incredible fear lurching up inside her. This wasn’t what she wanted. Why was she being like this? “Wait!” she called after him. “Please!” He stopped just before the entryway to the banquet hall, turning his forlorn expression to her. Persephone’s eyes filled with tears as she walked towards her husband. He outstretched his arms once more, this time she collapsed into him. “I d-didn’t mean it. I’m j-just o-overwhelmed with everything,” Persephone said between sobs. “I’m s-sorry.” Hades planted light kisses on her forehead as he held her close, trying to comfort her. “Let’s go to bed,” he murmured into her ear. When she nodded in agreement, he scooped her up into his arms, carrying her to their private bedroom. The way he picked her up effortlessly, as if she weighed nothing, made her giggle nervously. She locked her hands at the back of his neck, pulling herself up to press her lips to his. His mouth tasted of wine and other spirits from their celebratory meal. As scared as she was earlier of being truly intimate with her husband, now after the feast and several cups full of uncut wine, she could feel the fire that has been smoldering between them for so long was finally going to ignite. Her lips found their way down his neck to his collar bone, making Hades groan and grip her bottom tight. When they finally reached the room Hades kicked the double doors to the bedroom open. The two nymphs in who were preparing their bedchamber jumped up in surprise. “Get out,” he roared at them. They scurried away quickly shutting the doors behind them. Hades carried Persephone to the bed, keeping her pressed tightly against him as he placed her in the middle of the large bed. He positioned himself between her legs, pushing his hips against hers. “I’m ready, your majesty” she whispered into his ear seductively. “It’s time you finally claimed my body as yours.” Hades smirked as he slid his hand underneath her bottom, lifting her so she could feel the length of him against her fold. Persephone tried lifting the skirt to her dress, but Hades was quicker than she was. He was unwrapping her from her peplos and chiton as if she were a present for him. With the fabric finally removed, revealing her nude body, Persephone unbuckled the belt holding her husband’s garments on, tossing it away carelessly across the room. Hades lifted his clothes over his head, letting her see him completely nude for the first time. His body looked as if it had been chiseled by the finest sculptors and he was much more well-endowed than she had imagined. The way his muscles moved and bulged, as he lowered himself back down on to her excited her more than she wanted to admit. Persephone could feel him against her again, she expected him to push himself inside her as he had tried to earlier but instead, he drew away from her. She looked to him in confusion. “Relax,” he soothed her. “We don’t have to rush.” Persephone let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. His lips met hers softly, the sensation sent chills down her spine. He urged her mouth open, sliding his tongue against hers. She moaned softly into his mouth, pushing him to deepen the kiss. As he massaged her tongue with his own, his hand slid down between her legs rubbing against her sweet spot. She wrapped her arms around his neck, grasping onto handfuls of his hair. He ran his tongue down her neck, biting and sucking in spots to make her cry out in pleasure. Her body writhed beneath him as he continued to work her body. The pressure deep inside her started to build. Her hips moved and bucked against him, she was so sensitive she felt like she was going to explode if he didn’t stop. He moved his fingers faster against her, pushing her over the edge. Persephone tried to stifle the noise of her moans as she finally let go. Hades pushed his hips against hers again, his member was throbbing against her. She took him in her hand and guided it toward her entrance. Her fingers weren’t even close to touching wrapped around his girth. “Are you sure?” he asked.
