Kia stood behind the pilot’s chair watching Tamaiko tap the control deck. She beckoned Nagavi over. “How fast is Gorau’s ship if it’s taking him five days to arrive here and we took fourteen?”
Nagavi’s look was sly. “He’s in a hurry, Rial wasn’t.”
Rial had done everything within his power to delay his arrival at Tajriba, and Kia’s heart warmed as her mind returned, as it did at every opportunity, to the days and nights they’d had together.
