*Zade's POV* "You are meeting your soulmates today." The system said. I choked. "Wha...t do you mean about meeting my soulmates today? And why are you adding an 's'? It's supposed to be soulmate." "I didn't make a mistake. They are two." The system said, not meeting my eyes. "So where are we meeting? Location and all? My love, what about the dress? Am I overdressed, or should I dress to kill?" I paced. "Host, you are putting on your school uniform, and I only know you are meeting them today. Time, location, and setting depends on fate, actually. I don't know that." It said. "Seems you don't know a lot of things. Anyway, I am going to school to study." I walked quietly, but that bastard man isn't at home. I exhaled shakily and saw a handwritten note. *From mom:* Your sister and I left early. Some cereal is in the fridge, so eat. And your medicine is at the top of the cabinet. And baby, USE THE STOOL. I wrote that so you could see it well. "Is she actually looking down on my short legs?" I shook my head and boiled some water for my food. Who am I kidding? I can't cook to save myself. I put the medicine inside my bag and headed to school. Although I didn't know the school, the body still remembered clearly. "System, there's an urgent matter." "What's it?" "I don't have a phone. Like my beautiful system, what can you do about it?" "Nothing. I am sorry. But he has one old phone. Check your backpack." I started grinning. "Phone! I have a phone at last!" I started rampaging through my backpack, and I saw... "So system, after checking everywhere, I saw nothing." "You saw nothing? There's got to be a phone in his bag." Alas, the phone that my beautiful system called a phone was an electronic wrapped with wire. Beep! Beep! Beep. "There's a bomb in my bag!" I hurried away from it. "Ahahaha. That's not a bomb. It's your phone." "You got to be kidding me. I know a phone when I see one, and that in that bag is a bomb." "It's a phone. Take it or leave it. That's the phone you will be using." It replied. "Other systems I know help their owners, but you argue with me, annoy me, and can't even upgrade a phone for your owner." I replied, continuing my journey. "I can't do all that. I can only give you advice. I am a system, not a wish machine." I ignored it and went to school. "So tell me what I should be expecting in school." First, it stretched its little hands. "Don't cause trouble. Zane was a quiet boy, so you going there and causing a ruckus is not accepted. Second, listen to your teacher. No sleeping and no slacking. He loved reading, so you will continue." I glared at it. "When I was in school, my favorite time was when my teacher was explaining. It was so much fun that I would sleep through it. It's my friend that writes my notes for me." It shook its head. "In this place, you are on your own. And lest I forget, he is being bullied, so you have to help yourself. I am being summoned to report." "Noooooo, please wait! What do you mean I am being bullied? You only told me about meeting my soulmates, not about being bullied and you…….." I was still talking to it when it disappeared. Oh no, not again. I got to my new school and sighed. "Now we are doing this my way." As soon as I entered the school, some students began to whistle and chant: "The feminine boy." I'm like a muscle memory. I flinched when I heard those voices. "So these are the guys that bully you. Don't worry, I know what to do." The whistling continued and I stopped. "You know, this is stupid. You calling me a feminine boy. What do you expect me to do, cry, run like a baby? See, we are all in school, and I thought they only promoted those with intelligent quotients, but I doubt this." They stopped and they all looked shocked that I was talking back at them. I don't blame him. If I am being treated like that at home by my father, who am I going to report to about being bullied at school? "See," I continued, "if you are calling me a feminine boy, thank you for appreciating me. But you, this ugly looking buffalo, you scare children with that face you are plastering. If I see your face in the middle of the night, I will pass out." The leader looked at me with red eyes. "Catch him for me." They came rushing at me and I bolted. I ran to the nearest exit and that was the balcony. I stood there staring and panting heavily. "These stupid bird brain cells." Oh, I chided myself. "That's an insult to the bird." "Hey!" I called out to a girl standing at the edge of the rail. She looked so lost. She wasn't even blinking. What's wrong with her? "I know everything is hard, but we are going to overcome it. So this is not the end. You see, just come to me. Or better still, let me come and meet you." She didn't even move. More like she was waiting for an instruction. I was still trying to talk sense into her when she suddenly jumped. I reached out to her and held her hand. She struggled and started flailing her legs so I would leave her. "Please calm down," I pleaded, but she wasn't listening. And no one was even looking at us. My grip on her hand started loosening and she fell. Everything started slowing down. My hands trembling badly and I started hyperventilating. I saw her landing on the ground with blood. She looked at me and smiled. Then the door barged open and two worried-looking guys sauntered inside, panting. "Mila!" they shouted, and I lost consciousness. ---
