Iris’s POV
I spent the next week avoiding Victor. It felt like I was finally taking control of my life instead of letting it happen to me.
Monday morning, I sat on the edge of my bed with my phone in my hands and my heart pounding and I tapped through the settings until I found the option: Block this contact. I stared at those words for a full minute, then I pressed it.
Victor's number was now blocked and I felt relief for approximately four hours.
I wrote some chapters and replied to some emails. By 12:30, I showered, dressed and ate lunch like a normal person who was not thinking about her fiancé's father every waking moment. By two o'clock, I was feeling almost proud of myself.
By two thirty, I unblocked him to check for new messages.
