Iris’s POV I stood there, breathing hard, my hands trembling at my sides while Victor’s gaze held me in place. The air between us felt thick, heavy with every word I had tried to say and every feeling I had tried to bury. When he stepped closer, it was too much. My knees weakened before I could steady myself. “Do you really mean that?” he asked quietly, his voice low and dangerous, wrapping around me in a way that made it hard to think. “That you want to end this?” I swallowed, my throat dry. “I… I don’t know,” I admitted softly. My eyes dropped to the floor before I forced myself to look back at him. Heat pooled deep in my stomach, tangled with guilt and something I could not deny. His hand came up, gentle but certain, brushing along my jaw. “Iris,” he said, “look at me.” I hesitate
