Chapter 11: We barely know each other

Chapter 11

I'm sitting on Jed's lap recounting the story of what happened at the club earlier. I feel him tense and grind his teeth as I mention how two guys tried to sneak up and grab me, while I and the girls were dancing. "Can you describe them?" he bites out through gritted teeth. "Yeah I think I can, since I was pretty up close and personal with them. They were both pretty big, burly, rough and grungy looking. One was probably around 6'2", the other one was probably exactly 6 ft. The shorter of the 2 was bald, had brown eyes and was clean shaven with a scar that ran down his right cheek and on his forearm he had a tattoo of a wolf standing on a blood red moon. The taller of the 2 guys had long shoulder-length black hair and blue eyes, he also had the same tattoo on his forearm."

The three of them look at each other like they are talking without speaking. JJ speaks up "Did they say what they wanted?" I shake my head. "No, they just told me that I was coming with them." I grin before continuing to say "I did warn them that I wasn't going anywhere with them, and that they would regret putting their hands on me." Jax looks at me before saying "How would someone as tiny as you hurt them?"

I laughed and shook my head before replying "I may be small, but I have been to the gym and trained every day since I was 8 years old. The guys tonight were a cake walk, the only hard part is the way I'm dressed." I explained in detail how they had grabbed me and how I used their bodies to leverage myself to hurt them. I saw all three men shaking their heads in disbelief. "It's true, I'm no weakling. I have been training with Masie every day since I was 8. He has been trained from a young age to fight and has been the best trainer." I hear a rumble start in the chest of Jed that I'm leaning on before he growls "Who is this Masie, how old is he?" Did this man really just growl? I shake my head "He's 26, why?" Jed pulls me closer to him before I hear him whisper "Mine!" "I don't like some random man touching you!" I push away from him and stand up before turning to look at him and frowning "He’s not some random man, he’s my trainer and my friend I have known him for about 10 years. We-me and you barely know each other and YOU DON'T GET TO DICTATE WHO I ALLOW TO TOUCH ME!" I stand with my chest heaving up and down and my arms crossed across my chest.

I turned away before mumbling "I need some air." I turned and started walking to the river that runs through the woods. Water has always calmed me. I sat crossed-legged on a large rock by the river. I sat there with my eyes closed, taking deep breathes in and out, finding my center to calm down. "Who the hell does he think he is?" I asked myself, never expecting an answer...."He's our mate, he has a right to feel protective of you." The voice inside my head answers I jump "Who are you?" "Don’t you remember meeting me in your dream the other night, I'm Avolen. I’m your Wolf."......."That was real?" "Yes, it was, everything your grandmother the moon goddess said is true. You are powerful and with time you will get all your gifts." "So werewolves are real?" I asked "Yes, they are. And you are the most special out of all of them." Avolen replied “Avolen, you said he's our mate? Jed is our mate. Does that mean he's also a werewolf?" Avolen purrs before answering "Yes, he is a werewolf also. His counterpart's Wolf's name is Dean." I can feel her smiling as she tells me all this. "Can I tell him what we are?" I asked Avolen. I hear her laugh in my mind before replying "He's safe to tell him, he's our mate." "I guess I can understand now. I've read enough books to know what that all means." I sighed. I guess I need to go apologize to him.

I went to stand up but when I turned around, I was face to face with a large chest. I look up at Jed as he runs his hands through his hair, making it messy. We both speak at the same time. "I'm sorry." He looks at me before replying "Why are you sorry? I'm the one that overstepped. You're right. We barely know each other." I started laughing. He looked at me stunned. "Why are you laughing, Autumn?" I shook my head, "Well, apparently I have something to tell you, even though I just found out and it’s all new to me....Apparently you're my mate." His mouth dropped open "How did you find out?" "My wolf Avolen told me she just popped up in my head, and told me that you and your wolf Dean are our mates." Jed shakes his head "You're taking all of this very calmly for someone who just found out that werewolves are real." I giggled "As I said that day in the coffee shop I've always wanted there to be more out there. For it all to be real. So I can understand your jealousy earlier."

Jed smiles "You are absolutely amazing Autumn, you’re going to make the best Luna ever!" I choke on my spit...."What....you're an Alpha??" Jed Laughs "Yes, yes I am. Can't you sense the powerful aura off of me?" I shake my head "A little but it doesn't really effect me." He looks taken aback. "I think you're the first person who has ever said that to me, normally my aura makes people want to crawl under a deep rock and hide, even other high ranking wolves." I laugh "Well, sorry to burst your bubble, I just don't feel it, but my wolf also said that I'm special...even though I have no clue what that means." Jed looks at me in awe "Hmmm, I wonder what they means, have you shifted yet? Or know what your wolf looks like?" "Actually, I do know what she looks like. I haven't shifted yet, but I saw her in my dreams, but I don't think I should say out in the open, since my wolf did say I was in danger." "Okay, then we will talk about it later, do your friends know? They are human from what I smelled. But I do think they might be JJ and Jax's mates. But they are too young to quite tell, they are still 17." I looked at Jed and laughed. "I had a feeling about the way Jax was looking at Misty, especially since they had just met. But no, they don't know, but they have been my best friends forever and I would trust them with all my secrets. They are trustworthy." Jed took my hand. "Okay, then let's head back to our friends, and we will discuss things from there."
