CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN Back at the station, Franklin considered sticking around to deal with the paperwork but reckoned Lunny would cut him slack until the morning. He knocked out a message on his mobile and waited. He rocked sideways in the swivel chair. He breathed loud and deep and craved a smoke. His body was beyond weary. It ached with exhaustion. Beep.
