CHAPTER ELEVEN He and the kid had found a new place. A shed behind the old derelict church, where Luke had squatted when he first hit the street. It was close to the police station, though, so they couldn’t stay long. Before they’d left the old squat, he’d waited until the others were out and taken a few things. Nothing they’d miss. A bit of food. A couple of joints, which would do for the kid until he could get paracetamol. The new place seemed okay, apart from being close to the cops. It was warmer than the old squat, and the best thing was that they didn’t have to share it. A drop of water on his neck made him look up. Next thing, the roof was leaking like a sieve. No wonder there were a few metal buckets scattered around the place. ‘Grab your stuff, bud. That corner looks dry.’ T
