CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX The kid was in bad shape when they caught up in the afternoon. All shaky and sweaty and they had to find somewhere quiet for him to have a lie down before heading to their next squat. Luke wouldn’t talk about it until he suddenly blurted out, ‘Some girl had a photo of you today.’ He looked at him strangely, like he didn’t know him all of a sudden. ‘Why would she have that, Waz?’ He let the Waz go, his mind too busy going crazy. Ally? ‘What’d she look like?’ He grabbed the kid’s shoulder, must’ve pressed too hard, because he saw Luke wince. ‘I dunno.’ The kid shrugged out of his grasp. ‘Tallish, long hair.’ He couldn’t breathe. ‘Older than me.
