CHAPTER FORTY-ONE Raucous knocking at nine o’clock roused Georgie from the sofa. She flung open the front door, and hugs from Bron and her partner, Jo Holt, practically sent her sprawling. The next few minutes went in a confusion of Christmas greetings, inbound parcels and an esky of foodstuffs for their brekkie feast, with the excited cat and dog underfoot, and cheers after popping the cork of the real champers, a perk of Georgie’s recent interview with Mr Champagne.
