I stared after Mason’s disappearing figure in confusion just as Jane magically reappeared.
Her eyes narrowed immediately. “What was that?”
“Nothing.”
She smirked. “Mia, you’re smiling.”
I looked away and touched my cheek unconsciously. Maybe the fact that Mason still found me attractive had pulled the smile out of me without permission.
“I’m not smiling.”
Jane laughed loudly while grabbing her purse. “I’m leaving.”
I blinked. “What?”
“Something came up.”
