Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4 I watched along with literally the rest of the whole school as a solid black Yamaha R1 bullet bike came hauling ass into the parking lot, sliding to a stop in the only open parking stall that was right in the front row, feet from where I was sitting. We all watched as the rider, who was wearing clothing similar to Xavier’s, but a lot more leather and chains, hopped off the bike. He had his backpack slung over his shoulder and he pulled his helmet off, setting it on the seat, the same way I did. I had to stop myself from gasping at the sight He was f*****g gorgeous, like breathtakingly so. It was unreal how beautiful this man was. He had pitch black hair that was shaved short on the sides and longer on top and in the back. His skin was pale yet still looked kind of sunkissed and golden in certain lighting, accenting his high cheekbones and angular features. He had a septum ring and a labret piercing, but what caught me the most were his eyes. They were golden, like rays of the f*****g sun. And he was staring directly at me. I instantly averted my gaze, but it was too late he was already walking over here. “Shit.” I mumbled to myself so no one else could hear. I started to stand up to leave, but there was no escaping his all encompassing gaze. He walked directly up to me and reached for my hand, which, out of courtesy I instinctively gave him. He leaned down, kissed the back of my hand softly, causing sparks to run up my arm and settle into areas I was embarrassed to admit. Then he stood, keeping my hand in his, and met my eyes. “I’m Steele. Steele Alexander, and you are f*****g beautiful.” He purred. I heard the girls in my friend group gasp and swoon. Terrance made a huffing noise next to me, but never once stood to claim what he thought was his property. What a turn off. Of course he didn’t, the senator's son… Why would he have any balls? “Thank you.” I said, trying to be polite. Steele just smiled a perfect smile at me, shot me a quick wink releasing my hand, and then headed towards the entrance to the school. “Ivy! Oh my god!” Chelsea cried, snapping me back to reality. “What just happened?” I asked, sitting back down. “I don’t know, but the new guy is so dreamy.” She swooned, causing Terrance to scoff. “He probably lives in a barn behind some plantation, did you see the way he was dressed?” Terrance ridiculed. Then Shauna got involved, then Frederick. The males were bickering that he wasn’t part of our elite group and would never be good enough, while the girls were swooning and wishing they were occupying his bed. It was all too easy to tune out their bickering, replacing it with a rerun of what had just happened. I knew he was my type, hell Xavier was even my type. I was finding more and more that I loved the edgy style, and the attitude that came with it. I acted disgusted at Xavier’s cat calls, but really I reveled in them. And Steele…I pushed the dirty thoughts from my mind and headed to class with the rest of the elite group. I pushed through the rest of my classes on auto pilot, and then sighed in relief when the last bell rang and It was time to go home. I shoved everything in my backpack, noting that my demonology book was still in there. I was planning on reading this tonight, but not until later. I would just have to sneak out. “Hey, do you want to study for the human anatomy test tomorrow?” Terrance asked, slipping his hand into mine. I wanted so badly to just rip my hand from his, but I didn’t. His touch, it just felt wrong, somehow. “No, I have plans with my mom, I’ll manage.” I said with a fake smile. He couldn’t tell the difference though, he never could. We went our separate ways and I headed towards my car. I turned the corner and my breath hitched in my throat when I saw Steele, leaning up against my cadillac. He looked so f*****g sexy. “Fuck.” I said under my breath, but I couldn’t hide from him obviously. And how the hell did he know what I drove anyways? I held my head high and walked over to my car. “Steele.” I said, with my usual snark and tried to push past his muscular form. He remained stationary, blocking me from entering my car. I threw my backpack in the passenger seat and turned to face him. “Can I help you?” I said, hoping my tone would cover up the fact that I was extremely attracted to him. I pushed the dirty thoughts from my mind as we locked eyes. He put his hand out as if I owed him something, but he didn’t say anything. I just looked at him with one eyebrow raised. I put one hand on my hip to hopefully get the point through to him. “Do you know who I am?” I asked, surprised when he answered me immediately. “You are Ivy Ann Fontaine, daughter of Stephen Fontaine, mayor of New York. You live at 45667 E Fontaine Way, a street named after your great great grandfather who was a…” He rambled, but I cut him off with my hand up. “Ok, so you do know who I am… Then you also know how dangerous it is to piss me off.” I said. “Oh Ivy, there is much you do not know about me. But one thing you’d best learn immediately is, I’m not afraid of anything. Let alone your fancy father and all his money.” He purred, with a wicked smile. His words stirred something deep in my core. Someone who wasn’t afraid of my dad. This was a first. I clenched my legs together to try and stop the pressure that I could feel building between them and hoped that he didn’t notice. He stuck his hand out to me again. “What?” I asked, unsure of what the hell he wanted. “Your phone, give it to me.” He said. “What? Why?” I asked. He just smiled, and put his hand back out. I rolled my eyes and sighed as I pulled my phone from my pocket and handed it to him. Unsure of why I was even playing his games. I studied him as he unlocked my phone and did whatever he was doing. The sunlight caught his golden eyes and I could see the shades of honey flowing through them. I watched how his lips curled up into a smile as he typed something in my phone, before handing it back to me. Then I heard a sound as his phone went off. I watched him reach into his pocket and look at his phone. I looked down and saw that he put his name in my phone and sent himself a text. ‘Hey, baby.’ It read. I rolled my eyes at him, stuffing my phone in my pocket. “You know my father is going to kill me if he finds out that I'm speaking to you.” I said. “Well good thing I'm versed in the art of Necromancy, I’ll just bring you back.” He purred like it was nothing, like he had comebacks like these all the time. He was smooth. I would give that to him. Then he grabbed my hand, leaned down and kissed the back of it, before heading off towards his bike. I ignored the way my heart fluttered in my chest and pushed away the intense need I suddenly felt to taste his lips. I got into my car, put my sunglasses on and headed home. My dream briefly popped into my head but was replaced instantly with thoughts of Steele. Why is he interested in me of all people? My father is going to kill me, and my mother is going to kill Steele. I cannot be seen convoluting with the devil. The thoughts, while dirty and conflicted, rushed through my mind as I drove home. I couldn’t help but think about Steele, and him being the one to do the dirty things to me that happened in my dream. My cheeks flushed red at the thought. It wasn’t abnormal to have s****l thoughts. I mean hell, I was 18… But I just wasn’t that type of girl. The type of girl to give it up so easily to a complete stranger on a clifftop, or a complete stranger in leather and chains, that somehow coaxed my phone number right out of me in the school parking lot. That girl… The girl who was fun, and a little slutty apparently, longing to break out of her shell… She wasn’t me, right? Luckily no one was home when I got there and I didnt expect them to be. They never were during this time. I parked my car and walked past my motorcycle, longing to feel the hum between my legs. I had assignments and homework and s**t to do but I didn’t want to do any of it. I forced myself to continue walking past my bike and head inside. I could sneak out tonight and head to the cemetery, but right now I was still Ivy Ann Fontaine, and I had homework.
