Chap 2

⚕︎ACE WARNER⚕︎ What a sad little girl, the moment I set my eyes on her years ago, and found out she was my mate, I knew her life was about to get ruined. My father had made sure he blackmailed her parents the moment he found out there was a chance for him to get back to the werewolf territory and claim back his throne. In all honesty, I’m in no way interested in becoming the next Alpha king of werewolves, and I was never even interested in marrying her, but my father forced and threatened to destroy my mother’s life with his powers if I refused to marry her. I had to agree and even put on a fake smile and grab her arms at the altar when my father mind linked me to be nice and make the marriage look ideal because of his business associate who was in attendance. If my bride’s parents had disagreed to get her married to me, they’d lose their company, her mother, who is a werewolf would lose her wolf and sever all contacts with the werewolf territory, which is something no werewolf wishes for and dreads as this could lead to their death. There was even more, her father and brother would be locked up in jail for defrauding my father’s company, a case that had been closed five years ago. Hearing all this from my father at first, I didn’t care, but the moment he mentioned destroying my mother, which he easily can, since she is his mate, I felt an intense fear, an emotion I hadn't experienced in 500 years, encompassing the entirety of my existence. “Alpha, we are here.” the voice of my driver jolted me back to reality, I shifted my gaze from my puzzle cube to my bride. She was asleep, appearing very peaceful. "Wake her up!" I commanded my guard as he opened the car door. “Are you mad? How can you let another man touch our mate?” inquired my wolf, Jasper. “You better shut the f**k up and be grateful I didn’t kill her the moment I found out she was our mate.” saying that, I could hear him sigh in defeat. The first day I saw her, I almost killed her because it was better for her to die than to feel the pain of being with me. My life is a mess and any woman that comes into it suffers, especially when that woman happens to be my mate. I do have other women I have kept to fulfill my manly desires, but they do not have any significance in my life, so it doesn’t matter. But as for her, she was very important to my father, because any child borne by her would be the key to getting back into the werewolf territory and gaining back his throne. The scary thing about this, is that, birthing that child might kill her, because of its powers. And the death will be slow and very painful. Approaching the entrance of my home, my eyes landed on my sister, who was seated in the garden and painting. My eyes calmly shifted from her to the guard who was carrying my bride. I gestured at him to carefully take her upstairs, which he understood. After that, I made my way to my sister. I walked calmly toward her, ensuring I did not startle her. As I stood behind her, she stopped painting. “Why did you agree to marry her?” came her question; I swallowed calmly and sat next to her. I put my head on her shoulder. “Father will kill mother if I do not, you know what he is capable of.” I said to her, she turned calmly toward me and pushed my head calmly away from her shoulder. “You have to lie that she is infertile, you and I know the repacaution of getting her pregnant, you do not want that to happen again, do you?” my heart skipped a beat on hearing that, the sight of Marcela filed my vision, I took a deep breath. “I have a plan, that will never happen again and plus, I do not like the human.” I said. My sister shook her head. “Then you shouldn’t have married the poor girl and ruined her life. Remember, the curse will—” I interjected. “I know Zahra, please do not remind me of that. If my plan goes well, everything will be fine.” I assured Zahra, she smiled with a nod. “It’s getting dark, let’s go inside, you need to be with your bride.” the sound of that irritated me, another woman that isn’t Marcela, as my mate. That was disgusting! I faked a smile and stood up along with Zahra who had gestured for a maid to pack up her art supplies. We made our way into the house and she wished me luck before going to her room. Exhaling calmly, I ascended the stairs and walked through the hallway toward my room. Upon entering my room, I discovered my so-called bride peacefully sleeping on the mattress. Anger surged within me at the sight. Without hesitation, I mind-linked the guard who brought her here, informing him of his termination. I didn't wait for any plea; I severed the link instantly. I had already informed all the workers that the bride would be staying in a different chamber from mine, but this fool decided to bring her here. I didn’t even know what to do because I didn’t want to touch her. Deciding to ignore her after staring at her, I went into the bathroom and took a warm shower. After that, I walked into my closet and got dressed into a shirt and trouser which I would be sleeping in. Afterward, I entered my room and discovered her sitting on the bed, gazing at the ceiling. I silently observed her without announcing my presence. Her scent, that of a pathetic human, made me want to vomit. “Don’t get too used to my room, get up!” I rudely interrupted her staring contest with the ceiling. She calmly turned her neck and looked toward my direction, her face scarce of emotions. “Human!” I called out to her, my eyes not leaving hers. She folded. I made my way toward her, and sat at the edge of the bed. “I wanna make a deal with you.” I said, she looked at me. “What’s the deal?” she asked, her voice bold. Hm, she seemed fierce and nothing like how she acted at the alter. "I understand that neither of us desires this marriage, so here's my proposal. We'll portray ourselves as a blissful couple in public, but internally, we won't communicate or even share the same air." I stated firmly. “Fine by me.” she stated. "Very good, and one more thing," I said. She lifted her brows. "When my father questions you about our s*x life, you are to lie and tell him that we do have s*x every day." Upon hearing that, she looked away from me. “Is that all?” she asked. “And, you’re allowed to be with whoever you want, we will get a divorce when the time is right.” I told her. She seemed relieved by all I had said. But my wolf wanted to die, especially after I informed her that we wouldn't even be sharing the same air. “Grow up Jasper.” I mocked him. He didn’t reply to me, he was very angry. Looking away from her, I mindlinked a maid to come help her find her way to her room. I didn’t say a word to her while we waited for the maid, but I didn’t fail to see her glancing at me. I noticed her brown eyes twinkle when she stared at me, she looked pale and seemed like she had been through a lot. I didn’t want it to seem like I was checking her out, so I clenched my jaw. “Can you please step out? A maid will take you to your room.” I informed her, she didn’t say a word to me, she got up but she looked confused. There were three doors and I bet it would be difficult to find her way out. "The middle door," I stated. Without lifting my head to look at her, I noticed the absence of footsteps. When I finally looked up, I found her staring at me. “What is it?” I asked. “Can you please call my parent and ask for them to bring my cellphone and belongings, I have nothing to wear.” she stated. "You have everything you need in your chamber; you can sign in to your iCloud on your new phone," I informed her. “I do not need your money or help, I want my old clothes.” she persisted. "In case you didn't notice, I'm Ace Warner, the CEO of Warner's Jewel. No wife of mine will be seen dressed like a lowlife. I can't have your millionaire attitude tarnishing my reputation, so please, get the hell out, human," I seethed. Though she seemed shocked, she said nothing, glared at me calmly, and exited as instructed, her human scent slowly dissipating from the air. Picking up my cell phone from where it laid, I immediately dialed the number of my best tracker. He picked up on the second ring. “Good evening Alpha.” “I want you to find out all you can about my wife’s boyfriend.” I said and instantly hanged up and tossed my phone to the side of the room. My mind was consumed with a a lot of thoughts, especially with the conversation I had with Zahra earlier. Making her birth my child would mean getting to see my mum again after 200 years, but, it would cost her life. I do not care about her, but seeing what had happened to Marcela when she tried to birth my son disturbed me, they both didn’t survive because Marcela was a full human. I miss her so much and I wish I could hold her and tell her all I felt. Jolting me out of my thoughts was my phone, I grabbed it harshly, and picked up the call without the checking caller ID. “What do you want?” I asked rudely, from the cough, I didn’t need any introduction, it was my father. “I just called to congratulate you on your marriage, son.” he said. I rolled my eyes. “I’ll do things at my own pace, do not call me again.” I immediately hanged up on him and dropped my phone. As if he didn’t understand what I said, the phone rang again, I picked it up angrily. “Are you deaf?” I rudely inquired. “No, I’m not.” On hearing that voice, a smile stretched across my face. “Why the hell didn’t you attend my wedding, Aaron?” I asked, as if it was important to me. “I can explain if you come to my house right now.” he said, I shifted my gaze to the clock. It was 8:33 pm. “Alright, please make me dinner, my chef is away.” I said, he giggled and told me he was going to do it. I picked my car keys and walked out of my room, at least speaking to Aaron will make me feel better today. I sometimes wish he was my brother because he is everything I have and the only person that understands me a lot.
