Ava
"They're late" Jen said rolling her eyes, I wasn't really listening to her as I was giggling at these ridiculously funny memes pages on i********:. I had stopped checking gossip pages and had just become hooked on the meme pages.
"Will you please pay attention to me." She snapped and I sighed and put my phone face down on the table. We were at a Mexican restaurant and were waiting on Nick and Nigel. Nick had sent a text saying to meet them here after we were done at the bridal shop since Kayla was going to hang out with her granddaddy.
"You have my undivided attention" I told Jen and she smiled then transformed into the wedding planner she had become lately by telling me about flowers and the band they had booked since she thought that DJ's are tacky. She had told me all of this before but I didn't say anything, knowing how excited she was for her upcoming nuptials. I smiled and nodded in all the right places, I loved seeing her this happy, she was more than just my cousin but also my best and only friend and meant the world to me. Sure, I had friends in L.A but I was not close to any of the, it was more of a let's hang out together to garner more publicity and stuff, I couldn't really call any of them for anything serious like advice, that would always be Jen. They were nice girls and all but the friendships were shallow at best, no real depth to it.
“Sorry I’ve been rambling on and on, tell me about you and Nigel. What has been going on?” She asked and immediately a smile lit up my face.
"He's amazing Jen, I love him." I said to her, “And I've decided to move to Boston.”
She squealed, “I'm so happy for you babe, you really deserve it.”
"So sorry we're late, there was a lot of traffic" Nick said then took a seat opposite Jen and I followed by Nigel who gave a sheepish smile.
I arched an eyebrow at him but didn't say anything. Jen ignored them both and turned to me continuing our conversation as if they weren't even there, of course I followed her lead because I was a little pissed that they were over an hour late.
"I love your perfume Ava. What is it?" Jen asked and I looked at her amused but decided to play along, "It's Fleur, smells good doesn't it?"
"So what you're just going to ignore us?" Nick asked incredulously but we didn't answer and went on with our meaningless conversation.
"Your hair looks really cute today, I should have told you earlier." I complemented her and she tossed it behind her shoulder, "Why, thank you Ava. It's this new shampoo that-"
"Oh for the love of Christ!" Nigel snapped, "We were late, we're sorry. Now can you please stop being childish and actually talk to us."
I knew that we should stop messing with them but they were late and didn't even call so I took out my phone and looked back at Jen and continued messing with them.
"Let's take a selfie, your hair really does look cute." I said then took a selfie, with us making the duck face, mine more prominent than Jen's.
"Gosh, this is so cute. I should send this to Rian, maybe-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who the f**k is Ryan?" Nigel scowled banging his fist on the table and I arched an eyebrow at his sudden jealous outburst.
"It's Rian and -" I started to say smirking but he cut me off, "There will be no sending of selfies to this Ryan dude okay. You're mine, f*****g mine!" He said and Nick chuckled, "Woah dude you're so whipped."
Jen glared at him and he looked downwards avoiding her glare. I laughed looking at the Neanderthal in front of me. "Are you done?" I asked Nigel and he huffed, "Rian is my hairstylist's name, she normally does all of my looks." I said to him and Nick threw his head back and laughed, followed by Jen.
Nigel looked kind of sheepish but scowled then mouthed, "You're mine" and I didn't protest, just smiled at him, finding his possessiveness sexy. After that saga, we decided to forgive their tardiness and dinner went well with Nick cracking jokes and Nigel still brooding, giving me hard stares. Jen still talked about the wedding and conversation flowed throughout the entire night.
"We're going to go now." Nigel announced at around nine o'clock.
"It's still early" Jen remarked to which Nick nodded and said "Yeah man, stay a little longer."
"I need to go get Kayla, I left her with dad." Nigel answered and they seemed to understand then bid us goodbye.
We left the restaurant hand in hand then he suddenly pulled me against him when we got to the car and whispered in my ear.
"You're mine Ava. And if a man so much as looks at you so help me God, I will punch him so hard he'll get amnesia" I laughed and he kissed my nose, "I love you so f*****g much baby."
I nuzzled my face into his neck and kissed it lightly, "You're mine too Nigel Hamilton and I love you."
