“How did bread turn into this?” Jaxson said.
The moldy bread stuck to his hand. The nausea made him throw the bread on the ground.
“Eh…… It's disgusting.” Lucy took a few steps back, covered her nose, and said.
But what followed was a stronger sense of hunger.
“Ah. I'm too hungry. How could I be so hungry?” She said and began to pace back and forth.
Jaxson's state didn’t seem good either. After a long silence, he stood up and said. “I need to find something to eat.” He walked out of the forest.
But soon, he returned.
“Have you found anything to eat?” Daisy asked Jaxson.
“I ate a few leaves, but it doesn't seem to work. I was still very hungry.” He answered her.
“God. You ate the leaves……” Lucy sneered at Jaxson.
“Perhaps it is necessary to eat specific foods to fill the stomach.” Daisy said seriously. “Is it possible that bread is not a guiding prop, but a filling prop?” she stood up and said. “Because in the story, breadcrumbs also didn't serve as a guide, right?”
Daisy was interrupted by Lucy, before she finished speaking.
“You are a newcomer for the first time. You know what? What if we can't find our way after eating bread?” Lucy asked her.
“I'm just guessing. Believe it or not, it's up to you.” Daisy said.
“I knew you were just guessing.” Lucy said and gave a sneer. Then, she covered her stomach with her hand and crouched down. Her stomach kept ringing.
The hunger lingered tightly around Lucy and Jaxson.
“I guess you can only eat two things now. One is the candy from the candy house, and the other is the moldy bread on the ground.” Daisy said.
“Candy House is the main task, who knows what will happen after eating it?” Lucy said with a bit angry. “The bread has become moldy like this, whoever likes to eat it!”
Before she finished speaking, Jaxson had already picked up the moldy bread. The bread has a foul rotten smell. He let out a dry gag, then stuffed the bread into his mouth.
“Ouch……” Seeing this scene, Lucy vomited directly.
“You are a brave man.” Daisy said with admiration.
Jaxson calmly wiped his mouth and said with a smile. “I feel a bit nauseous, but fortunately, the deadly hunger has finally disappeared.”
“Really? Bread is the only prop that can be used to cure hunger. Daisy, I didn't expect, you are so wise.” Logan said with admiration.
“That bread, if not eaten, would be quite wasteful.” Daisy said happily.
“Okay. You were right.” Logan said with a smile.
Jaxson's hunger has been resolved, but Lucy's has not yet been resolved.
It was already a puddle of muddy bread, and now it was covered with maggots. Lucy supported the tree, vomiting and ,looking very uncomfortable.
Her gaze towards the candy house became fiery.
“Since you're okay after eating something from the game world, I would be okay if I only eat a little.” Lucy said.
She quickly pounced toward the candy house, pulled out the donut from the roof, dipped it in chocolate from the wall, and ate it.
In a moment, she ate half of the eaves of the candy house. Until her stomach bulged a bit.
“These desserts are really delicious, sweet but not greasy. After I return to the real world, I have to ask my chef to make some for me.” Lucy said happily.
“I saw that the candy house moved.” Daisy said.
“I also saw it.” Logan yelled.
The three of them stared fixedly at the candy house.
The candy house made of chocolate was writhing frantically, and in a moment, a door frame was forcefully squeezed out. Inside the door frame, a hunched figure slowly emerged.
‘Children, are you starving?’ A voice yelled.
What came out was an old woman with empty eyes. Her figure is very tall and strong, almost two heads taller than Daisy. The figure startled Lucy.
‘Only you, ate my candy house?’ The witch said to Lucy.
Lucy was scared and quickly wiped her mouth clean.
‘Don't be afraid, child. Although I am ugly, I am a good person.’ The witch said with a smile. ‘Everyone come in, there's still a lot of delicious food in the room.’
She looked at the four of them and walked ahead hunched.
“let's go. Let's keep up.” Daisy said.
“Do you want to follow in? Even a fool can tell that, she has malice towards us.” Logan fought to Daisy. “I thought you were smart just now, but why are you so foolish now.”
“Is there any other place to go?” Daisy asked Logan.
Logan's not speaking anymore.
“There's really no place to go. I just went out for a walk and found that the forest has no boundaries.” Jaxson said. “And if we go out again, it's uncertain when we'll be hungry again.”
The four finally decided to follow the witch and enter the room.
The outside of the candy house is not big, but inside, it is terrifyingly large. Just look at the rooms with closed doors, there are several.
“Children, there is food in the house, and there are wild wolves outside. Don't run out.” The witch said. She led the four people into a room, and she looked very, very kind.
“She is so kind. Does she really eat people?” Lucy said, with a bit curious.
“God’s game. What’s the conditions for passing it?” Daisy said quietly.
“There are no clear pass conditions.” Jaxson said. “Sometimes, we must kill the NPC of the game. Sometimes, we must find special prop.”
“How many times have you been selected?” Daisy asked Jaxson.
“Triple.” Jaxson answered her.
“Do the two previous times have any common point?” Daisy said.
“Common point?”
“For the first time......That reckless person killed the key NPC in the game. An object with a card pattern fell out of the NPC's body. Then we went out.” Jaxson told her.
“The second time, the main task asked us to find a box, but I accidentally found it. There is a card in the box. Then we went out.” Jaxson said.
“So, each pass condition is related to the card?” Daisy asked him.
“It should be like this.” Jaxson told her.
“Have you brought that card with you? What kind of that card is? Can I see that card?” Daisy asked Jaxson.
“Certainly. I heard that cards are gifts from gods, and those who possess cards can gain some special abilities.” Jaxson told Daisy.
“Special abilities? How could you be a person with special abilities? Are you still so stupid with special abilities?” Lucy said and gave a sneer.
Jaxson was a bit awkward.
“Although that's the case, I don't know how to use this card.” He said, and took a card out of his pocket.
This card is blue. There is a shield and some flowers painted on the card.
“After returning to reality, I searched for a long time, but there is very little talk about the card.” He said.
“The meaning of a shield is that you have some defensive abilities.” Daisy told Jaxson.
“Sure enough, it doesn't have much use.” Lucy said and heaved a sigh.
Everyone was worrying.
There was a slight sound of walking outside the door.
“Children, dinner is ready. come with me.”
The witch walked in and said kindly. Her smile was very, very kind. If it weren't for her too ugly appearance, she would still be considered an amiable old lady.
“Come with me. Everyone else is in the canteen”, said the witch, then she turned around and left.
“Everyone else? Is here anyone else?” Daisy whispered with a bit curious.
“It should be someone else chosen by God.” Logan whispered to her quickly.
“Let's go along quickly. If I could also get the cards in the game, that would be great.” Logan said, with a bit excited.
The four followed behind the witch.
The canteen was, unexpectedly, quite a distance from here. After walking for a long time, we saw a door. There was a large dining table in the room, surrounded by men and women. Daisy found that in this group, the gender ratio was indeed five to five, as she had guessed.
“Everyone is here, everyone can start dining.” The witch yelled.
No one touched the tableware. The dining table was filled with delicious dishes, but everyone looked at each other.
“Brothers, remember to take care of your sister, don't let her get lost.” She finished this chilling sentence and left.
…
“Who on earth arrived first?
How come the candy house has already had its roof gnawed off?” A man was a bit angry and questioned the crowd. “Who let you touch something related to the main task?”
The culprit Lucy dared not speak and looked down at her hand.
“Perhaps, it was because the candy house was gnawed that the door could be opened.” Daisy said.
“Nonsense! When I came, the door of the candy house had already been opened.” The man said quickly. His tone was very impolite, and Daisy frowned.
“I have read the story of the candy house, this old witch will choose the fattest one to eat.” The man at the round table spoke.
His words had just fallen. Absolutely, no one dared to touch the food on the table.
“Fortunately, I ate some bread to cushion my stomach. This world is really strange.” The man said.
“What? You even ate the prop. What if it works.” Another man said, and he held the moldy bread in his hand and carefully cared for it, looking very strange.
There were many people who didn't eat bread, and they stared at the dishes on the table with their eyes wide open, stiff for a long time.
Finally, someone picked up the chopsticks.
It's Daisy.
“What are you looking at me for? Can't you eat when you're hungry?” Daisy said.
Everyone's eyes turned to her, and she didn't care at all about it, and she started to feast on it.
The sound of swallowing saliva quickly rang out at the round table.
“What should I do? I'm also so hungry.” A girl said.
Soon, someone began to whisper.
