When Lucy entered the restaurant on Saturday evening for her shift, she felt eyes on her. Both Jane and Sebastian were working tonight and the last time she had seen them had been the night before the full moon, when Adam blew up at Sebastian, and Jane had given Lucy a ride home. She was determined not to address the questions burning in their eyes about Adam and their relationship. She didn’t know the answers to most of them herself, let alone explaining it to someone else.
Keeping busy, Lucy managed to avoid both of them throughout her shift, but when the last few customers were finishing up their meals and it was time to close, she knew her time had run out.
