Chapter one. Marriage proposal.

Kendal stood up in tears and said to her dad

No!! You can't do this to me. You can't just give me off like a scumbag. I have dreams and goals to achieve.

Mr Jared stood there, his face impassive as he listened to her outburst

"Kendal, you know how important this marriage is for our family. You don't have to be self-centred about this. Your mother and I already agreed on this and whether you like it or not you are going to marry him and that's my final decision" he said as he left the room angrily.

"I don't know or care about what your dad's decision is, but read my lips Dad I won't do this. This is my life and I will do as I am pleased. I won't do it! Even if it means I will disrespect you for once ".

Kendall was devastated and beyond reasoning because she had also been a dutiful daughter. She couldn't sacrifice her life for her parents.

"Daddy I won't do this and am sticking to my words" she screamed sobbing. "I won't be part of this I promise".

Kendall sat down on a couch, bowing her head while she cried bitterly. Her stepmother came to sit down with her while she tried to convince her.

"My dear I know this is hard for you right now and we are sorry about that but I want you to know that we want you to be able to stand your ground as a lady. Your life is going to turn for the better if you consider this"her mother said calmly.

Kendall smiled bitterly while she retired to understand what her stepmom was trying to imply.

"Thank you my daughter I know yield to our request"

"I will be going to bed right now mummy" Kendall angrily left the sitting room

Mr. Jared walks into the sitting room while he sits beside his wife to have a conversation With her.

"My love, are you sure of what we are trying to do? Because I am concerned about her feelings" Kendall's dad said as he spoke to his wife softly.

"Yes! Am sure of what we are doing and I assure you we aren't going to regret it. It's late dear, let's go to bed ".

They both stood up to close the window and shut the door before they entered the bedroom.

Kendall got up with a swollen and red eye the next day. She couldn't because her heart and mind were still trying to process all the changes that were going to happen in the twinkle of an eye. She went straight into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Mr Jared walks into the kitchen to get a glass of water. His phone rang and it was the billionaire.

"Oh, Good morning Mr. Gabby I am fine thank you. Oh sure that's not an issue we are going to be available. Okay, we will make it to your office before noon. Have a great day ahead Mr Gabby" Mr Jared said as he hung up the phone.

Kendall looked at her father in an infuriated way then left the kitchen to go dress up for her first meeting with her arranged husband.

"Good afternoon Mr.Gabby. How are you? And how is your day going, sir?" Mr.Jared greeted the billionaire.

I'm doing great thank you. Mr Jared.

Kendall stood by the door. looking at Gabby with a fearful look on her face. "Have a sit Kendall" Gabby said in a very calm tone

"Well since we are all here I guess we should get started with our meeting. I called for this meeting to know if you have come to a conclusion concerning what I want in exchange for my investment in your company". Gabby said while smiling.

Yes! Of course. We will be glad to have you as a part of our family. Mr. Jared said as he couldn't stop smiling because of the huge change that was going to happen to their Pofamily soon.

Kendall was quiet as a dove throughout the meeting because she wasn't interested in the conversation.

"When should we fix the date of the wedding?" Gabby asked

Mr.Jared desperately said"Anytime is fine by us as long as you have free that day" "

Okay! The wedding will take place in two weeks and I will be sending some money into your account to get everything she will need for the wedding". Gabby said.

Kendall's eyes were filled with tears but she couldn't let them out.

"Alright thank you very much, Mr Gabby. We look forward to seeing you on that day".Mr.Jared said

Kendall got home looking so exhausted, full of pain and anger. Wondering why her parents could do that to their only child.

She was lost in thought while her mum sat beside her.

"My dear you know you are going to make a bride? I can't wait to see you walk down the aisle with your beautiful wedding dress and a big smile on your face" her stepmother tried to console her.

"I know mummy. But not in this aspect".Kendall told her step mum while sobbing "It's okay my baby" They both shared a big hug.
