Falling For You

2088 Words

AZURA Holding on is far more painful than letting go. It’s in the nature of humans to eventually let go, but holding on is allowing yourself to go through the things you otherwise wouldn’t opt for. You know there’s no hope, and you wouldn’t get anything out of it, yet still, you hold on. You put yourself through the pain of pretending you can keep it together and keep your head into it. You force yourself to hold your breath and dive in, knowing that soon you’d be out of breath and you’d need to break the surface, but you don’t stop. You will dive further than before. Because you believe there is something to be found, a pearl or reef or sometimes nothing. That’s what holding on is. The will to not give up even when you know there is nothing for you. That’s what makes it so difficult. *
