Thank you for reading Daughter of the Sun. I hope you enjoyed Sekhmet's story. I don't usually make author's notes, but in this case, I thought I should. Mostly just to touch on the mythology and reveal what is real and what I've twisted to suit the story. I've loved Egyptian mythology ever since I was small, so I wanted to give as good a representation as I could.
Up until her being cursed, the myth about Sekhmet falling into blood lust and nearly destroying humanity only to be calmed by wine spilt by Ra, is true. She wasn't cursed as a result though - that bit I did twist! Ra really was Sekhmet's mythological father, and Maahes her mythological son. Her consort was Ptah who was only mentioned in this case.
