Chapter Seven I rested my head in my hands, trying to focus on the soothing sound of the water in Ma'at's pools. Apparently, the goddess herself wasn't around, which was odd to say the least, but the priestess who'd been with us before had let me in and brought me back here. It surprised me that Ma'at gave one of her followers so much power, but Edrice seemed nice enough. She'd even brought me a tray of lemon water and fruits before disappearing to leave me alone.
