Night crept over the small town like a soft blanket. The rain slowly weakened until it became just a gentle drizzle tapping against the roof.
Luke and his grandmother shared a quiet dinner—warm stew, soft bread, and peaceful silence. His grandmother kept stealing proud glances at him, thinking how grown he’d become. Luke, on the other hand, was already thinking about tomorrow…about the new school, the new environment, the new challenges.
After washing the dishes for her, he wished her goodnight and went upstairs.
His room was simple, neat, calming—everything in order. His school uniform was ironed and hanging on the chair. His books already arranged in his backpack. His glasses cleaned and placed beside the lamp.
He lay down, closed his eyes, and drifted into sleep with hope in his heart.
A new chapter.
A fresh start.
A chance to prove himself.

Narrator’s POV – General
Morning arrived faster than anyone expected.
Alarms rang in every household.
Groans and complaints echoed everywhere.
Some students woke up late, rushing around with toothpaste still on their mouths.
Others dragged themselves out of bed thinking, “I’m not ready for this.”
And of course, a few pretended to be sick just to avoid school.
But two students—living in completely different worlds with completely different lives—were wide awake with excitement.
---
Narrator’s POV – Sofia
Sofia practically jumped out of bed when her alarm rang.
She couldn’t wait.
New term.
New gossip.
New drama.
More teasing. More fun with Molly and Zoe.
And of course… planning for prom.
She dressed herself quickly, choosing the outfit that would make her look “main character material.”
In her mind, school wasn’t about learning.
School was about owning the hallways, laughing loudly with her friends, and making memories—sometimes at the expense of others.
She was excited.
Too excited.
---
Narrator’s POV – Luke
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Luke buttoned up his uniform quietly.
He wasn’t thinking about friends.
He wasn’t thinking about social life.
He wasn’t thinking about drama.
His mind was on books.
On studying.
On getting the scholarship that could change his entire future.
Luke didn’t want to be popular or noticed.
He wanted peace.
He wanted to focus.
He wanted to make his grandmother proud.
He preferred minding his own business, walking in shadows instead of under the spotlight.
Two students.
Same school.
Same morning.
But their paths…
Their dreams…
Their intentions…
Two completely different worlds.
And today…
Those two worlds were about to collide.
....
The school was alive.
Students crowded at the gate, laughing, screaming, hugging their friends like they hadn’t seen them in a year. Some wandered around confused, searching for their classrooms. Others were already gossiping about who changed over the holidays, who dyed their hair, who had a glow-up.
The noise filled the whole place…
…until a sharp engine sound sliced through everything.
A red sports car slid into the parking area, catching every pair of eyes.
The doors opened one by one.
First, Sofia stepped out—hair perfect, outfit on point, confidence dripping off her like perfume.
Then Molly.
Then Zoe.
Everyone knew these three.
The famous trio.
Untouchable. Beautiful. Popular.
Students automatically moved out of the way as they walked toward the school entrance like it belonged to them.
Sofia smirked to herself.
She couldn’t wait to cause some chaos.
Just a little something to “welcome” the new school term.
---
Narrator’s POV – Classroom
Minutes later, the bell rang sharply.
The noisy crowd scattered into hallways, classrooms, and different buildings.
Sofia and Molly entered their department, while Zoe disappeared down another corridor to hers.
When Sofia stepped into her classroom, the room fell silent instantly.
Everyone watched her—waiting.
Sometimes she didn’t care if people made noise…
But sometimes, one wrong sound got someone in trouble.
But today?
She simply smiled and said, “Morning.”
Then walked to her seat.
The class exhaled in relief and slowly returned to their conversations.
Moments later, the door opened and their homeroom teacher, Ms. Matty, walked in.
Instant silence.
“Good morning, class,” she said warmly. “Welcome back. Before we begin, we have a new student joining us this term.”
Whispers began.
Eyes widened.
Someone mumbled, “I hope he’s handsome.”
Ms. Matty stepped aside.
And in walked a tall boy with a calm, unreadable face.
His dark black hair fell perfectly with that silky shine, half covering his forehead.
He wore neat blue spectacles that made him look serious… almost cold.
His uniform looked like it fit him too well—broad shoulders, slim waist, tall posture.
But he didn’t act proud.
He didn’t act shy.
He just… stood there.
Quiet.
The students’ excitement died instantly.
A few scoffed.
“Just another nerd,” someone whispered.
But one girl—sitting in the middle row—gazed at him with a small smile forming.
She liked the quiet boys.
Ms. Matty nodded at him. “Introduce yourself.”
Luke raised his chin slightly.
“Good morning. I’m Luke Greyson.”
That was it.
No extra words.
No unnecessary explanations.
The silence was awkward.
A few students exchanged looks as if to ask, Is that all?
Ms. Matty didn’t mind. “Thank you, Luke. You may take the empty seat.”
He scanned the classroom, found a space in the middle row—right beside the girl who hadn’t stopped staring at him—and walked there.
Back straight.
Face calm.
Like nothing bothered him.
Ms. Matty began explaining the year plan, emphasizing discipline and focus.
Students half-listened, half-daydreamed.
And at the very back…
Sofia leaned into her hand, smirking.
A new student, huh…
This year just got a lot more interesting.

L U K E ’ S P O V
When I arrived at the school, the first thing I did was head straight to the Dean’s office. I wanted to get everything done so I wouldn’t have to deal with any unnecessary conversations later. The Dean signed some forms, explained a few rules, then called a teacher to show me around.
We walked through the hallway together. The interior wasn’t bad, better than I expected actually. Students were everywhere… laughing, talking, running like they owned the place. I didn’t care. I just wanted to know where my locker was.
She finally stopped at a row of lockers and pointed to mine, explaining how to open it. I nodded. No need for extra words.
On the way to the class, I told her I wanted to use the restroom. She showed me the direction and said I must come back quickly. I did my business, washed my hands, and headed back.
When I returned, she called me to follow her inside the classroom.
The moment I stepped in, every single pair of eyes turned towards me. I felt their stares but ignored them. I walked straight to the front where the teacher stood.
She told me to introduce myself.
I looked at the class once. Nobody interested me. So I kept it simple.
“Good morning. I’m Luke Greyson.”
That was all. No long story, no unnecessary information. The class waited like they expected more, but I wasn’t giving them more.
The teacher nodded and told me to go sit down. I glanced around and spotted an empty seat in the middle row. I walked there without hesitation.
The girl sitting next to the empty seat was staring at me with this weird excitement, like she had been waiting for me. I didn’t even look at her properly. I just sat down and took out my notebook.
The lesson started. But she didn’t pay attention. She kept glancing at me every few minutes. It was annoying. I hated sitting next to people who didn’t focus.
Two hours passed slowly.
When the bell rang for break, I packed my things quickly. Before I could stand, she suddenly spoke.
“I knew you were a guy with short words… the last time I saw you, you didn’t say anything. I thought you were shy.”
I finally looked at her. Her face… familiar. I stared for a moment, then it hit me.
The girl from the coffee shop.
She smiled and introduced herself again.
I just nodded. No handshake. No extra conversation.
I got up and walked out of the class. I heard her calling my name behind me, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t even slow down.
I went straight to my locker to put away some books.
