Chloe’s POV
I hadn’t gotten a nosy or check in text from Kyle since I got to school and I found that a little odd and disconcerting.
The history teacher was making me read paragraph after paragraph about the Roman Empire but I could barely focus, the only thing keeping me from stuttering was the fact that I could recite its history off heart.
Once I was done and I noticed he hadn’t arrived, I shot him a quick text.
When class ended and he hadn’t replied, I made a beeline for where Lilith was seated with her head buried behind an open laptop.
“Hey Lilith, how’s it going?” I greeted casually—after the eventful weekend we’d spent together, we’d followed each other on social media so it made sense to be informal.
