Chapter 4 The Bond

James was sitting at the edge of Skye’s bed. “Good morning my beautiful princess.” “Good morning.” She replied . She sat up and he pulled her close. He kissed her deeply and she did the same.
“Daren didn’t hurt me. He saved me from a void.” He brushed off her comment. “I made you breakfast, we can eat then I need to go to my father’s house.” He held her hand and they walked to the kitchen. He had chocolate pancakes and chocolate syrup. With a warm cup of hot coco . She kissed him quickly then sat down to eat. “This is delicious honey, thank you.” I love you.” She looked up at him. “I love you too.”
He picked her up In his arms , kissed her and held her tight. “ It makes me so happy to hear you say that. I promise I will treat you like a queen.”
“I know you will.” She kissed him again.
He sat her back down. “I have to go to my father’s now. Be good ok.” He kissed her again and left.
She finished her breakfast, drinking her coco last. It tasted so good, like James was a gourmet chef. She put her plate and cup in the sink. She started walking around the castle since she had nothing to do. James must be a millionaire. He hallways paved with gold. Diamond chandeliers. She came across a locked door with the keys . She unlocked the door and turned the light on. She began walking down the stairs.
“Who’s there?” Asked Daren. Skye walked down a few more steps and saw him in the cage. She started crying. “ What happened?” she asked. He reached his hand out through the bars . Skye reached back and they held hands. “I’m so sorry this is all my fault. “ She took the keys out and went for the key lock. “ It’s no use, it’s a special lock. You need a lot of vampire strength to break through and unfortunately whatever spell he put on this cage is draining my energy.” Said Daren. Skye squeezed his hand tighter. “ What can I do? I’m so sorry.” She said. “Don’t be it’s not your fault. As soon as I smelled James scent on you I should have stayed away. His family is very powerful.” He said
“He still shouldn’t have did this to you. All you did was save me.” She said as she got closer to the cage and Daren put his hand on her cheek wiping her tears. His knees started getting weak and he had to get down on one knee. ” What’s wrong?” She asked. “I’m getting weaker, I’m hungry and I’m losing energy.” He replied.
“You can drink from me “ said Skye. “Are you sure? It will hurt especially the first time” he said. “I don’t want you to die, it’s my fault you are in here.” She said. He took her wrist and brought it up to his mouth. He pierced her skin and began drinking. She felt a sharp pain and fell to get knees. As he drank from her , he gained his strength back. He got to his feet. Their souls bonded together. You will realize what this means later on. He sealed up her wounds. She struggled to get to her feet, feeling light headed. She held onto the bars steadying herself. “ I’m so sorry, I know you must feel awful. If I need to drink again you will start feeling better each time. It only hurts the first time.” “It’s ok I’m just glad you are ok.” She replied.
“Come closer.” He said. He pressed his face up to the bars and pulled her lips into his. He kissed her deep sending another spark of electricity. She suddenly felt 10 times better. “ I know I shouldn’t kiss you but I had to help you feel better and that’s the only way. Next time it won’t be so draining and I won’t have to.”
“That’s good because I love James and I cant risk losing him. I do care about you though and I’ll do anything to help you.” “ Thank you Skye, hopefully I’ll see you soon.” He replied looking into her eyes.
She felt regret deep in her stomach. She was falling for him. Deep in her heart she thinks that James is her soulmate but something is drawing her to Daren. She must shake the feeling off. She locked the door back up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Hoping she didn’t have Daren’s scent on her. The bathroom was as luxurious as the house. A golden shower and toilet along with black floors and walls. She took a quick shower and got dressed in another beautiful dress James had picked out for. This one was light blue with sparkles.
She left the bathroom and curled up on the couch. She covered up with a soft blanket. She drifted off to sleep.
James soon came home. He saw skye sleeping the couch. He laid next to her and held her tight.
They both slept for what seemed like hours. They both woke up suddenly to the crack of thunder outside. James held her tight. “It’s ok my love it’s just a bit of bad weather.” He kissed her forehead.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips. He returned her kiss passionately.
“Let’s get something for dinner, I’m tired from work though.” “Can we order a pizza? She asked. “Sure I’ll give them a call. What kind do you want baby?” “Pepperoni please! She said as she gave him a big kiss. “As you wish my princess.” He replied.
He ordered the pizza. Soon there was a knock at the door. James took the pizza and gave them the money plus a generous tip.
“ Yummy this looks so good! “ When I lived with my awful “ parents” all I got were the leftovers after everyone was done.” said Skye with a sad tone.
“ You don’t have to worry about that with me baby. You will always have the best of the best.”
She took a big bite of the hot pizza. “ Mmm this is so good.”
“I’m glad you are happy my baby.” He smiled at her and took a bite of the pizza. “So what did you do today my love?’ “ nothing much, I walked around the house and took a shower.”
“What did you do?” She asked him. “My business is kind of a secret but I will share it with you in time.” He replied.
He bent his head down and they kissed deeply. “Do you want to go lay down in the bedroom and watch some TV?” He asked. “Sure honey.”
They held hands and walked into the bedroom. They laid down together snuggled in the blankets. Soon after the movie started James fell asleep, Skye did the same. Soon it was morning.
