Chapter 4: Shattered

AVEL My eyes were wide as I stammered but before I could find my words, his lips crashed into mine, stealing the breath from my lungs. The sensation silenced everything—the pounding music, the crowd behind us, and the racing thoughts in my head. The wall hit my back with a cold jolt, but it did not matter. His warmth consumed me, his hands pressing against my sides with a desire that mirrored mine. My fingers instinctively gripped his shoulders, pulling him closer as if letting go would send me plummeting. The kiss deepened, each movement more urgent than the last as if we were making up for all the moments that hadn’t been ours. His lips were firm but soft, his touch desperate, and when his teeth brushed against my lower lip, a shiver ran through me, leaving me completely undone. I gasped for air when he finally pulled back, though it felt like I’d lost more than my breath. His forehead pressed against mine, and in the dim glow of the club lights spilling through the doorway, his eyes returned to mine, filled with something I could not name but craved all the same. Without saying anything, his hand slid down to meet mine, his fingers lacing through it in a way that felt both natural and electric. He gently tugged, and I followed without hesitation. We moved away from the club as if the world around us did not exist. The next sound I heard was the door slamming shut behind me, and before I could figure out where we were, the stranger's lips touched mine again, and I shuddered as sparks of electricity ran through my body. It was as if all of my senses were heightened, and I felt each sensation more intensely than before. My arms took on a life of their own, wrapping around his waist and drawing him in as I deepened the kiss. A stack of textbooks on the nightstand fell to the floor, and I let out a desperate grunt as my back hit the cold tiles. The room remained dark, except for a sliver of light that filtered through the improperly closed curtain. My heart pounded as if it would burst as I pressed his body against mine, the heat of his skin igniting a fire within me. His hands left my hair and roamed my body, looking for every inch of flesh they could find, and before I knew it, I was struggling with his zipper. I shuddered at the sensation of his bulge, and a groan escaped his lips, allowing me to break the kiss. Without warning, I turned us around so he was leaning against the wall, and his breath caught in his throat as I slipped my hand inside his jeans and reached for his c**k. Again, his tongue dominated mine in an instant as his hands fumbled with the hem of my shirt. I quickly undid his jeans and pulled them down before dropping to my knees and stroking him up and down until a groan vibrated across his chest. “f**k, I’m so f*****g hard,” he growled as I wrapped my hand around his tip and slid it up and down in a twisting motion while feeling myself drip as my own c**k throbbed with a dizzying intensity. “f**k!” Another grunt ripped through his chest, and I slowly drew circles on his tip with my tongue. I heard him gasp as my lips wrapped around his length, and the room soon filled with his groans, causing me to move with renewed vigor as I finished what I started. His hand found the back of my head, his fingers weaving into my hair as he began thrusting while groaning louder, and my heart swelled with pride as I realized I was making him do that. I sucked him deeper, reveling in the sensation of power as I drove him insane, forcing him to crumble at my command. But the feeling of power was fleeting as he fisted my hair and accelerated the pace, each thrust harder than the previous. I tried but could not keep up, and I gagged, tears welling up in my eyes, as my hands slid to his thighs and gripped them tightly as the predator became prey. Drool coated my chest as the hot stranger mercilessly f****d my mouth, causing tears to roll down my cheeks. My fingers sank into his flesh as I gave in to his mercy, my grunts echoing off the walls, and just when I thought he could go on indefinitely, his muscles contracted, and he pulled out and emptied himself. I fell to my hands, coughing as I took a much-needed breath, but before my lips could close, I was back against the wall, hands pinned above my head. His hand slipped inside my boxers, his lips pressed against my neck, and my knees buckled as he began stroking my c**k. He started slowly, and his left hand snaked under my shirt, causing me to arch my back as the familiar fire covered my back in goosebumps. “My turn,” he whispered against my ear before taking my earlobe in his mouth while pinching my n****e, and another loud grunt vibrated through my chest, my vision becoming hazy. “You like that?” "Yes," I breathed out, a horny mess, as he stroked my c**k faster in a twisting motion. My fingers gripped the wall as he continued his assault, his lips finding my neck again, and my breath came in ragged breaths as he sent me to the brink of insanity. It was not long before my body contracted, but just as I was about to release, he whispered in my ear, telling me not to. I opened my mouth to say I couldn't hold back, but as he pulled down my jeans, the words died in my throat, leaving only a loud cry as he bent me over, spat in my hole, and entered me. My legs buckled as my body jerked in response to the foreign invasion, and he wrapped his arms around my waist to keep me still. My eyes welled up with tears, and I gripped the headboard tightly as his hand slid to my upper back, causing me to bend over further. Loud grunts echoed off the walls as my hole stretched to his girth. “f**k!” He growled as his hands returned to my waist, holding me still while I bit my lower lip, bracing myself for the burning pain as he thrust deeper with each stroke. His left hand moved up to my chest, causing me to come up, while the right slipped between my thighs. He began stroking me while still thrusting harder, and I threw my head back in ecstasy, surrendering to him once more ••• HOURS LATER My eyes fluttered open, groggy from sleep, and I turned onto my side, only to realize I was alone. I stretched out slowly, wincing as a dull ache in my muscles reminded me of how the night had gone. The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of air circulating through the vents and I glanced at the clock on the polished nightstand. 1:14 a.m. Had he really just left me here? A pang of something sharp twisted in my chest. Disappointment? Embarrassment? I wasn’t sure. I sat up slowly, taking in my surroundings as the dim lighting adjusted automatically to my movement. The bed beneath me was massive—king-size, with black silk sheets that felt impossibly smooth against my skin. The headboard gleamed in the low light, made of polished ebony wood with intricate carvings that looked handcrafted. Swinging my legs over the edge of the bed, my feet sank into a plush, Persian rug that stretched across the marble floor. As I stood up, lights embedded in the floor flickered on, illuminating a minimalist space that screamed wealth. The furniture was modern but understated—no flashy gold or gaudy displays. Instead, it was the kind of wealth that whispered rather than shouted. A glass wall stretched across one side of the room, offering a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Beyond it, the moon hung low, its light reflecting off the distant ocean and I rubbed my arms, feeling suddenly exposed in such a space. I walked toward a side table that caught my attention. On it sat a Rolex watch, a polished silver cigarette case, and an open book with a worn leather cover. I picked it up, surprised to find it was a first edition. Hemingway. My gaze shifted to a towering bookshelf that stretched up to the ceiling, filled with leather-bound books, rare collectibles, and framed photographs. In one, a young boy stood beside a man in a tailored suit. His father, maybe? The air in here felt heavy with secrets, and I moved to the far wall, where a series of touch panels were embedded seamlessly into the marble. One of them had a small, glowing button next to it and my curiosity got the better of me, and I pressed it. The wall slid open silently, revealing another room, and I stepped inside cautiously, my breath catching in my throat at the scenery that unfolded before me. It wasn’t just a room. It was a private indoor pool, but not just any pool. The walls and floor were made of aquamarine tiles, creating the illusion of ocean waves. Gentle lighting from beneath the water mimicked sunlight streaming through the sea. What looked like coral reefs lined the edges, and fish swam lazily beneath the surface. What the hell? It looked like the ocean itself had been trapped indoors. I pressed a second button, and the ceiling shifted, revealing a retractable skylight. Moonlight poured in, making the water shimmer like liquid silver and my heart raced. Who the hell is this guy? A soft chime startled me, and I rushed back into the bedroom as the wall closed behind me. My phone vibrated on the nightstand where my clothes had been neatly folded. It was Fia. I grabbed the phone, silencing it before pulling on my jeans and shirt, my mind whirling as I dressed. Everyone at Silverglade was wealthy but Kai was clearly far wealthier than I’d imagined. I shook my head, grabbed my jacket, and headed for the door and the elevator ride down felt endless. When the doors finally slid open, I stepped into the hallway, ignoring the pounding of my heart. The club across the street was still alive with music and laughter, even though the night was fading into the morning. I made my way back inside, weaving through the crowd, scanning for Fia and it didn’t take long to spot her. She was dancing with some guy, laughing as if the world was perfect. But just as I made my way to Fia, I saw him. Kai. He stood near the bar, his blonde hair catching the lights, and a girl pressed against him, her arms wrapped around his neck, their lips locked in a kiss that made my stomach twist. I froze, my pulse hammering in my ears. What the hell? As if sensing my gaze, he pulled back from the kiss and looked straight at me, and for a moment, time seemed to stop. His expression didn’t change. There was no recognition in his eyes—no hint of the man who had been with me hours ago. He looked at me like I was a stranger. “Hey, you,” Fia’s voice cut through the fog in my mind and I turned to see her walking toward me with the guy she had been talking to. “Are you okay?” she asked, frowning as she took in my expression and I nodded numbly, unable to find my voice. “This is Avel,” she told the guy with a smile. “Avel Lockwood,” she added and the guy said something in return, but I didn’t hear a word. My gaze drifted back to Kai, but he had already turned away. It was as if I hadn’t existed at all. And just like that, something inside me shattered.
