I didn't try to get Lydia to stay with me longer, and as Elvo said, my most important task now is to regain Lydia's trust.
Whether you want to be friends or become a MATE again, you need to start by gaining Lydia's trust.
If Lydia had been in that guarded state every time I appeared in front of her, there was no way I could have gotten close to her, let alone become her MATE again.
"Good. Let's go." I gave Lydia my softest smile, "Can I walk you back?"
