Ryan’s POV

**October 22ed**the twins birthday**

Today is my birthday, today I don’t have to go to school, today I can spend the day being me and hanging out with my aunt Lizzy. It is a Monday but on birthdays we spend the day together, doing stuff together. Right now it's 11:37 a.m. and I'm just waking up. I get out of bed, head to the bathroom, take a shower, brush my hair and teeth, do my business, then walk back to my room to get dressed. I put on a pair of dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a dark green and black plaid shirt. I walk down to the kitchen and see Aunt Lizzy with a stack of pancakes. I sat down and said “good morning Auntie L, today is my birthday and I would like to spend my day in the forest.”

“Morning and I'm sorry to tell you this but we can't do that today we have something very important to talk about.” she says

“Ok can we talk about it after breakfast?” i ask “sure but we need to talk about it right after because it’s better you know before they come.” she says mumbling the last half. “ok “ we then eat in silence. Auntie L seems to be in her own world. I soon finish and wash my dishes. We move to the living room.

“Ok so…” Auntie Lizzy starts “I would like it if you could keep your questions until the end. Ok,” I nod.

“Ok then. As you know today is your 16 birthday and there are things you need to know about yourself. First, is that your parents are alive, and I told you they died because it’s what they wanted. If you're thinking they gave you to me cause they didn’t want you, that's crap, they did it to save your life. Second, your parents weren't human. You dad is the king of demons and your mother is the goddess of pain. The third is that you have a brother.”

“What!! I have a brother.”

“yes, now be quiet so I can talk. You have a brother, a twin brother that's older than you by a minute. He is living with my sister, your Aunt Ellie, and it was agreed that on your 16 birthday, we would meet here so you could have each other for your shift. Also because this is one of your parent’s safe houses. Fifth, you're not human. Obviously, your mum’s a goddess and you dad’s the demon king, and with that said we don’t know what spirit you will have.”she finishes. I stay quiet. After a minute of me being quiet she says “so. Are you ok? Do you have any questions?”

“one. What’s my brother’s name?” I say

“His name’s Riley…… OH! I almost forgot.” she says. Aunt L then stands up, walks over to the wall with a painting of a giant castle on it, takes the pitcher down and looks on the back. She grabs a piece of fabric with a string tied around it, and walks back over to me.

She hands it to me saying “this is something that you and your brother will each have. Like a matching set. They were made with magic and have magical properties. I don’t know what they are though.” I took the package and undid the bow carefully and saw a necklace. It was a 30” silver snake chain, with a silver circle pendant that had “A brother is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit.” engraved in it on the front and “RR” on the back. When I was done looking at it, I put it on. When I put it on I feel something click into place, but I don't know what it is. I ask “Is there anything else I should know?”

“For right now, no. just process this for now.” Lizzy says. We sit in silence, with me going over everything in my head. Then there’s a knock on the door. Lizzy got up and opens it. Dave is on the other side when she opens it. I can't hear what they're talking about.

‘Hello?’ I hear in my head.

‘Who are you?’ I ask it.

‘You can hear me?” it asks

‘Yes, now who are you?’ i ask again.

‘I’m Riley. I know this is strange. Believe me, I know. But it’s amazing to be able to talk to you.’

‘Riley? As in my Soposuvly twin brother Riley?” I ask

‘Yes Ryan, you’re a twin. I'm just outside the town. I'll be there as soon as I can and we can talk face to face.’

‘That would be nice. I can’t wait to meet you in person.’

‘Likewise….I got to go but I’ll be there soon. ok’

‘Ok. see you soon, Bye’

‘Bye’ he says. I now realize that Aunt Lizzy is sitting in front of me, she must have done that while i was talking to my brother.

``Were you talking to someone?” she asks.

“How did you know?”

“When you talk to someone telepathically, a glossy look goes over your eyes.”

“Well, I was talking to Riley,” I say. Her eyes go wide. She asked, “how is that possible?”

“You're asking me? I should be asking you.” I say. We sit in silence again, but we’re brought out of it by another knock on the door. Lizzy again goes to open it. All I hear is a loud gasp. I look over and see a person that looks exactly like me except has light brown hair, dark blue eyes and a whole lot of muscle.

“Hi,” he says. That's the voice, that's the voice I heard in my head.

Riley’s POV

**October 22**16 Birthday**

Yesterday I got on a train to Montreal, to the nearest train station to New Moon Falls, because apparently that's where aunt Lizzy and Ryan are. The thing is that New Moon Falls is also in the middle of nowhere according to Uncle M. As promised Uncle M was at the train station waiting for me, we got on the train. Then when we arrived, we headed east. We walked until nightfall, and apparently Uncle Morph had to go back to the dreams, but before he left he told me to keep heading east. Why did he need to leave, I don't know. After he left I found a sturdy tree, climbed it and made myself comfortable for the night. When I woke up, I climbed down and started to eat breakfast. As i was eating i realised “today’s my birthday” i said to myself.

‘Happy birthday guys’ I tell them.

‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!’ they yell.

‘Come on guys. Not so loud, I would like to keep my hearing.’ I say. After that, I went back to eating. I was eating some fried granola, I also had it for dinner yesterday, and will have it for lunch as well, unless I get to Ryan and Lizzy before lunch. When I'm done eating I head east, I walk, and walk, and walk some more. I reach a clearing in the woods and I hear a growl. I stop, look around. I see a wolf, maybe 6.6ft tall, hiding in some bushes, I only see one.

I say “i see you. You might as well come out.'' Then I hear bones cracking. coming from where the wolf was, i hear someone say, “is there a chance you have a pair of shorts in that duffle bag of yours i could wear?” I put the duffle bag down, open it, take out a pair of basketball shorts, say “Here” and throw them in the same direction. The leaves rustled, then a man, about 6.4ft tall came out. He had tanned skin, blond hair, brown eyes, and looked to be about 18-19 years old. He seemed to be looking me up and down.

I said “hello. Who are you?” he seemed to be snapped out of whatever was happening, and said “i should be asking you that, Rouge.”

“Rouge? What's a Rouge?” I asked, with a confused face. He seemed to be confused by my question.

“A rouge is a wolf or a supernatural being that was kicked out or banished from their pack, coven or whatever they call it.” I understand it.

“Oh. I didn’t know there was a name for this. I just called them loners, and I'm not one. I’ve killed many of them, but I'm not one of them.” now he was confused. I continued asking “why would you think I'm one of those. I mean sure I'm out in the woods by myself, but the ‘rogues’ as you called them and normally very smelly, like rotten meat, and a lot of them are crazy.”

“If you're not a rogue then why are you on New Moon Pack land?” he asked.

“Oh, this is pack land. Sorry I didn't know. All I remember is that if you want to cross or go on pack land that you suppose to asks the Alpha or the person in charge. But because you were a wolf I'm going to guess you were a werewolf. So that would mean the Alpha is in charge. You would be interrogated, so they could make sure that you mean not harm to the pack and blah, blah, blah.” Now he looks confused and a little imprested I think.

“Exactly so who are you, and why are you here?” he asks again

“Why don’t you tell me who you are first.”

“fine. I'm Cole. your turn.”

“Fine, I'm Riley and I'm looking for my aunt and brother.”

“Ok, Riley, who’s looking for his aunt and brother, who are your aunt and brother?”

“My aunt Lizzy and my brother’s name is Ryan.”

“Why did you keep walking when you felt the border?”

“There was a border?... if there was, I didn’t feel it.” I say. He looks shocked. I say “is that a bad thing?”

“No, it’s an odd thing. Most people feel the power from it and will either avoid it, or ask to pass through.”

“Well that's cool, but also I wouldn’t be passing through. I would be staying for a couple of weeks then going back home. Also could you ask your Alpha if i can because i would really like to see my brother.” then all of a sudden i feel this click, like a missing piece of me was just added.

“I’ll link my Alpha,” Cole says.

‘Did Ryan put on his necklace?’ I ask the guys.

‘Yes, he did’ Killen says.

‘Link him’ Mason says

‘How do I do that?’ i ask

‘Just think ‘talk with Ryan’ and say what you want to say.’Aaron says.

I think ‘Talk with Ryan’ and I feel a link, I assume it’s with him.

I say ‘Hello’ like I would with the guys.

‘Who are you?’ I hear. His hearing me brings the biggest smile to my face.

‘You can hear me?” I ask

‘Yes, now who are you?’

‘I’m Riley. I know this is strange. Believe me, I know. But it’s amazing to be able to talk to you.’

‘Riley? As in my Soposuvly twin brother Riley?” he asks not to believe it.

‘Yes Ryan, you’re a twin. I'm just outside the town. I'll be there as soon as I can and we can talk face to face.’

‘That would be nice. I can’t wait to meet you in person.’ he says, and if possible, my smile got bigger.

‘Likewise….I got to go but I’ll be there soon. ok,’ i say feeling eyes on me, which I assume belong to Cole.

‘Ok. see you soon, Bye’

‘Bye’ I say and close the link.

“So, can I or can I not come on the territory?”

“You can, as soon as I get word that Lizzy is expecting you.”

“You know her?”

“Ya everyone does, she asked 16 years ago if she and her nephew could live on our land, cause there was a family house on our land. So of course we let them. The weird thing was that she didn’t want her nephew to know about the supernatural world.” he says

“Ya, that sounds like them,” I say, then he zooms out. I guess this is what it looks like when you mind link someone. When he came to he said, “well, you are clear to stay on the territory”

“Thank you, but do you think you could show me where the house is? It would save me some time.”

“Sure.” As we walked I got bored so I said “tell me about yourself Cole” again he looked shocked.

“Well, what do you want to know?”

“I don’t know. I’m bored so just talk.” he thinks for a minute then says “well. I'm a werewolf--”

“I know that,” I say. “Tell me stuff I don’t know”

“Fine. I’m 18. I’m one of the top warriors in the pack. I have 3 sisters, and 1 brother. I like to fix cars… what else.”

“That's cool,” I say

“What about you. Tell me about yourself.” Cole says.

“Why? There’s nothing to me” I say

“There’s something to everyone, people just think there isn’t something to them”

“Nope, not happening. I will ask a question then you answer, and can ask me one. I well not just talk about myself like you just did.”

“Ok, fare.”

“Have you ever killed one of those Rogues, and if yes how many?”

“Right to it then. Yes I have, and I’ve killed 13”

“Cute,” I say

“Cute? What's cute?”

“The fact that you’ve killed 13.”

“Then how many have you killed.”

“I’ve killed hundreds, but only the ones that are crazy or attack me,” I say and the shock returns.

“Wow,” he says “how have you killed hundreds. You're like 17”

“I’m 16 today and I killed the first one when I was 7.” I say seriously. He stops walking and looks at me.

“Why were you killing when you were 7?”

“That would be the 3ed question. I ask 2 then you can ask again.”

“Fine.”

“Hmmm. What’s your family like? You said you have 3 sisters and a brother, tell me about them.”

“Well, my brother is the oldest. His name’s Alex. Then it’s my sister Teri. me. Then twins, Arianna and Roxanna.” he stops and says, “we’re here.”

“Thanks, and is there a place I can work out while I'm here. I don’t know if Aunt Lizzy has a home gym.”

“If you want I can ask the alpha if you can, your power training grows if you want.”

“The pack training grows?”

“Ya.”

“Ok, but I have no idea where they would be.”

“I can show you. What time do you work out at?”

“Well, I start around 6:00 with a run. then eat, so…. 6:30 ish.” he zones out again.

“The Alpha said it was ok, I will be here at 6:25 then. See you tomorrow.”

“Bye,” he then leaves.

Cole’s POV

The head warrior said there was a rogue around the border, headed for the west clearing and sent me to check out the rogue. When I was close to the area I smelt the most amazing scent of honey and wild flowers. As soon as I smelt it my wolf Kennedy yelled ‘MATE. RUN i***t, RUN TO MATE’

‘We need to deal with the rogue first then we can go to our mate,’ i tell him. We slow down when we come up to the clearing, the smell just gets stronger the closer we get. We walk so we don't make a sound. I hide in some bushes. A minute after I get in the bushes a person walks into the clearing. He has black hair. One blue and one green eye, and looks absolutely stunning. He’s about 6.7ft - 6.8ft and had muscles for days. Literally. He has form fitting black long sleeve shirt, that outlines the muscles, he might have more muscle than the Alpha. A pair of dark blue cargo pants on, a backpack on his back, a duffle bag in his hand, and oddly no shoes.

‘MATE!’ Kennedy growls, and I can't keep it in. He hears it and stops walking. He Scans the area, his eyes land on me.

He says, “I see you. You might as well come out.'' Then I change to my human form and ask “is there a chance you have a pair of shorts in that duffle bag of yours I could wear?” he puts the duffle bag down, unzipped it takes a pair of shorts out.

“Here” and throws them to me. I walk out of my hiding place and look him up and down.

“hello. Who are you?” he says, snapping me out of some type of trance.

“I should be asking you that, Rouge,” I say with an emotionless face, even though all I want to do is is run up and kiss him.

“Rouge? What's a Rouge?” he asked, with a confused face. I was confused by his question but still answered the question. After my short explanation, he seemed to know what a rogue was.

“Ok, Riley, who’s looking for his aunt and brother, who are your aunt and brother?”

“My aunt Lizzy and my brother’s name is Ryan.” I know who he’s talking about.

‘ the person that's on the Territory, his name’s Riley and didn’t know it was pack territory. He’s looking for his aunt and brother. His aunt is Lizzy and his brother is Ryan he says, would like to ask for permission to stay on the pack land for a couple of weeks.’ i say

‘Mike (the head Warrier) send the wolf closest to Lizzy, to ask if she’s been expecting someone named Riley’

‘Yes Alpha’ Mike says

‘Cole stay with him, maybe get to know him a bit more on what type of person he is’ the alpha says

‘Yes sir.’ i say

‘You know I don't like being called sir, Cloe. it makes me feel old.’

‘I know I'm just messing with you.’ We then end the link and I see my mate's mind linking someone, with a smile on his face.

“So, can I or can I not come on the territory?” He asks

“You can, as soon as I get word that Lizzy is expecting you.”

“You know her?”

“Tell me about yourself, Cole,” he says, and I'm surprised. I’m pretty sure he can’t feel the mate bond yet, so I’m hoping his birthday is soon.

“Well, what do you want to know?”

“I don’t know. I’m bored so just talk.” I think for a minute then say “well. I'm a werewolf--”

“I know that,” he says. “Tell me stuff I don't know,” I think, Then say “Fine. I’m 18. I’m one of the top warriors in the pack. I have 3 sisters, and 1 brother. I like to fix cars… what else.”

“That's cool,” he says

“Hmmm. What’s your family like? You said you have 3 sisters and a brother, tell me about them.”

“Well, my brother is the oldest. His name’s Alex. Then it’s my sister Teri. me. Then twins, Arianna and Roxanna.” I stop cause we are at Lizzy’s House, and say “we’re here.”

“Thanks, and is there a place I can work out while I'm here. I don’t know if Aunt Lizzy has a home gym,” he asks.

“If you want I can ask the alpha if you can, your power training grows if you want.”

“The pack training grows?”

“Ya.”

“Ok, but I have no idea where they would be.”

“I can show you. What time do you work out at?”

“Well, I start around 6:00 with a run. then eat, so…. 6:30 ish.” I then link the alpha

‘Alpha, could Riley use the training grows to work out at 6:30, with me there to watch of course.’

‘He can as long as you keep an eye on him, and take him to see me after.’

‘Of course, thanks to Alpha.’ I say then we end the link.

“The Alpha said it was ok, I will be here at 6:25 then. See you tomorrow.” I say

“Bye,” he says then I leave. I walk home still in the shorts he gave to me, I can give them back tomorrow. When I get home Alex is still out. He’s the Beta of the pack and has lots of work to do. The twins are watching t.v. in the living room, and Teri doesn't live at the house anymore, she lives with her mate, Jonas, in their own house. I tell the twins I'm going to my room. I go to my room take a shower, get my sweat pants on and then lay on my bed thinking about my mate. His midnight black hair. His amazing eyes, the one ocean blue, and the other a forest green.
