Chapter 1: Darling Crown

940 Words
"Your training will start tomorrow. I am fully aware that you are not as smart as Honey but you need to learn as soon as possible. Your sister's life depends on you." I drunk the tequila in one gulp. I'm Darling Crown but no one else in this world knows that except for my family—and that one person who ended up abandoning me too. I have no friends. The guy in my condo when my father went to see me, was a fling, and he did not know my name. He was taken care of since he heard my conversation with my father. I was forbidden to introduce myself to the world. The crowns have only one daughter and that was Honey. She was the only daughter everyone knew about while I was in Cebu, struggling to survive. My father sent me to Cebu to hide the fact that I existed for no valid reason at all. He hated me and my existence. I've been hiding all my life, living as an ordinary girl, instead of being a Crown. And now I am here pretending to be one... I have a perfect life, indeed. "Need a companion?" A guy of my age approached me. He sat on the stool next to mine. I watched him closely. He was...hot. "Well..." I ran my fingers from his chest down to his torso. He seemed to like it because he returned it with a smirk. The next thing I knew we were already in the comfort room and he was roaming his hands all over my body. I lit a cigarette as I walked out of the bar and went to the parking lot. Flings. It was no big deal for someone who had been dumped by her lover. I started living this way since he left, in order to distract myself, in order to give him a reason not come back. I flicked my cigarette somewhere with a bitter smile on my lips. I was already miserable and there was my father, pestering my life. I was about to open my car door when someone grabbed me from behind pulling me by the waist. I was about to curse whoever it was but I froze upon seeing his face. Man, have I seen this handsome face before? I gulped when his hand travelled to my face and stayed there. I wanted to protest but I couldn't find my voice. Who the hell is this guy? I pushed him off me when my senses came back. "What the hell are you doing?" He just stared at me as if he was trying to read my mind. He was tall. I am tall but he was big. He's got a fair complexion, a black hair and a pair of earrings that suited him very well. With what he was wearing, I could tell that he was well-off. And his eyes were...warm. He tucked his hands on his pockets and smiled at me. I gulped at that. How could someone be so fine? "I'm harmless," He said. "How am I supposed to believe you after you grabbed me like that?" I asked back in a cold tone. He chuckled. "Your voice sent shivers down my spine, were you always this cold?" I gave him a bored look. "I don't know about you but you're wasting my time." I turned my back on him but he talked again. "Well, I heard about you." He said. "They say you're the flavor of the month of every guy in Cebu." I smirked at that as I turned to him again. "It's the other way around, douche. Your sources suck." The smirk on my lips disappeared when I realized what he said. How did he know I was from Cebu? He chuckled. "You are Celine. No, you are Trisha. No, you are Alex sometimes. Which one is your real name?" My mouth dropped open. He laughed at that. "Let's say my sources aren't that bad after all." I squinted. "Who are you?" "Hey, easy." He held his hands up. "Who are you and what do you need from me?" I asked again. It wouldn't be good if someone knew about my existence. This could affect my mission. He pouted. He does look harmless but looks can be deceiving. He took one step closer to me and leaned down since he was taller. I thought he was going to kiss me but rather, he whispered to my ears. "I know a lot about you, you don't want me to tell that to anyone else, right?" I gulped as I stayed composed. Why does he smell so f*cking good? "What do you want?" I asked straightforwardly. He chuckled as he moved away. "Well, I'll keep your secret but in one condition." I shouldn't be here listening to his bullsh*t but I could tell that he knew something. He knew I had been faking names but still, he could be playing games with me. "What makes you think I'll fall for that?" I smirked. "Go find another girl to hit on, a**hole." I turned my back on him. He could be hot but I was here for a mission and he was distracting me. "You have a twin sister and I know who she is," I stopped on my tracks. I turned to face him again. He was now wearing a blank face and it was impossible to read what was running on his mind. "I'll keep my mouth shut, but you have to come with me." He glanced at his wrist watch and locked his eyes with mine. "Tonight."
