*Bram* I’ve never smelled anything like the stench pouring out of the forest from the site where we were ambushed. Even three days after it’s over, we haven’t finished cleaning up all the bodies. I’ve been on the retraction team since the very beginning, and it’s not been easy. For ten or twelve hours every day, we move bodies. We’d probably be doing it longer if we had more daylight, but by the time we get to the ambush site, load the wagons, and bring them back home, we are out of daylight. And Alpha Kalaen is nervous about having us out there after dark when he still hasn’t figured out who it is that executed the ambush.
