My hands were shaking as I took off layer after layer of my dress. I felt like I was moving at a glacial pace. My mind couldn’t focus on what I was doing, I was just predicting what Graham was going to do to me. I felt my belly clench and the moisture started to build as I slipped out of my skirts and pulled my chemise up over my head. I didn’t bother with my robe or blanket, the fire had made the room warm and toasty. I climbed up onto the bed and laid on my back. I stared up at the thin canopy above my head and stared off into the space around me. I subconsciously traced my finger across the skin on my belly as I waited for Graham to come back.  I started to think about our long, life-risking journey ahead of us.
