1. Rebirth of Destruction

559 Words
"We need a Luna." Saeva, the gamma of the Sanguis pack blurted. Makhaira took a deep breath before turning to face the clueless gamma. "And how do you suppose go about convincing the Alpha King to forget his hatred towards women?" Makhaira asked. Saeva rolled his eyes and slouched in his chair. Saeva may have been the gamma of the Sanguis pack for several centuries, but he wasn't around in the early days of the aftermath Tyrione caused. "I don't get it, I know what happened in the past was bad but it's been CENTURIEEEES." Saeva said dragging out the end of his statement. "That is the problem, you weren't around when it happened. You couldn't possibly understand. Those of us that were around, we know how bad it was." Makhaira countered looking out the window. Makhaira was the only werewolf in the Sanguis pack that has lived as long as Xaliber has. Makhaira was the only person to witness the initial bloodbath after Tyrione's betrayal. His mind drifted back three hundred and eighty-nine years. Makhaira's breaths became shallow as he approached Xaliber's room. The feeling of death, despair, pain, heartbreak, anger, evil, and cruelty hit him as he got closer. His eyes widened and his heart dropped as he finally reached Xaliber's room. Xaliber in a new Vantablack wolf standing over the body of a small child. A gruesome image presented before his eyes. A small human child with her neck ripped out and blood and flesh coating Xaliber's fangs. Makhaira fell back, his best friend and king killed a small human child in cold blood. Tyrione succeeded in ripping the humanity and heart from Xaliber's now hollow chest. "Hello, Makhaira! Do you hear me?!" Saeva's voice rang, pulling Makhaira out of his trance. "What is it?" "I asked if you could tell me about it. I've been begging forever. I can't understand our Alpha if I don't know the full story." Saeva whined. "It's none of your business Saeva. Don't ask or speak of anything regarding the matter in front of Xaliber, this is not a warning. It is a threat." Makhaira said as he left the room. Makhaira stood in front of Xaliber's door silent and still. He missed his best friend. Despite Xaliber's actions, Makhaira stood by his friend. He knew Xaliber is not the cruel man he had become. The loud boom of the door slamming open startled Makhaira. Through the door came Xaliber. "Makhaira, the time has come." Xaliber uttered desperately. Makhaira exhaled, his feelings conflicted. Xaliber's announcement brought both relief and fear. Two hundred eighty-nine years ago, Tyrione said she would return. Her return would bring upon destruction to the Sanguis pack. It would wipe his kind from the face of the earth. Before she could enact a spell that would end the Sanguis pack for good, Xaliber did the most painful thing a man could possibly do. Xaliber killed the woman he loved. Despite her betrayal, it did not change the fact that his heart belonged to her. The Moon Goddess foretold, three thousand five hundred and seventy-two lunar cycles from Tyrione's death she would come of age in her new life. The day has come, where Tyrione's new life has reached eighteen years of age. Xaliber must again repeat the most difficult decision he has ever made, kill Tyrione again.
