99 Apprehensions
After Elizabeth received the confirmation that her two newest pages were undercover agents for the Curia, she gave her permission to Tom and Hugh to arrest them. She suggested that it might be less distressing to the staff if they were to apprehend the pair when they were not inside the castle. Her concern was that she wasn’t sure how they would react to being found out and then detained; she didn’t want to jeopardize the safety of her staff. Hugh and Tom honored Elizabeth’s concerns and suggested that since their pattern seemed to be to meet in the stables after they reported to the archbishop, it might be the ideal place to arrest them; as well, they would both be together. Until then, they would carry on as usual so as not to arouse their suspicions. Tom was extremely busy man
