18 Stephen carried the bags of food, though Zoe hadn’t been happy about it. “If I were to take you on a date, this is what I would do. I want to show you that I respect you,” he said. “But I can do it myself. Not to mention that you’re the one with the boot,” she grumbled. “I know you are very capable, but that’s not the point.” She cast a curious look his way. “Then what is the point?” “That I want to do something nice for you.
