5 Zoe grinned at Stephen’s obvious discomfort. “Single, huh?” Rebecca asked. Stephen hesitated. “Yes,” he finally said with a grimace. “But I’m just passing through.” A tiny wedge of guilt worked its way into Zoe’s chest. She hoped he wasn’t married with three kids or something like that. She didn’t think he was, with the way he’d interacted with her at the star party. He had flirted with her, right? She now second-guessed herself. Maybe he hadn’t. She didn’t have much experience in that arena. “Uh-huh,” Rebecca said, her grin widening. “Because you aren’t in town for long, we’ll have to work fast. Are you free tonight?” Stephen’s eyes widened in horror and he looked to Zoe for help, but she had none to offer. There was only one answer he could respond with. She had made sure of that
